Sigh... I can't believe I should have to explain this to a grown man in his 60's.

I KNEW IT WAS MAILMAN THAT SNEAKY BASTARD.

God DAMMIT was it Dan? I'll fly there right now, beat on him, play all his awesome amps and that Kamikaze and then hug him and leave, while filming the fact that we have no pants on and texting said film to the Corpse...plus beers and BRIDGEPORT BEARCATS RULE!
I will be your huckleberry.....

I would have been raising hell 8 days ago....but that is me. You sell something you ship it and it is ready to go out immediately. Anything else is unacceptable in my book.
Jesus christ
I agree the seller should have shipped by now and been in more contact, but between this and the other thread, i can see some of you are quite ridiculous. A lot of people who sell used gear are average people and i know for a fact i have taken a couple days to ship before. I mean, i always communicate these things and 9 days is a bit much, but come on.

9 days is totally preposterous!!!
yeah, its too long
"Between this and the other thread, some of you are ridiculous." WHAT????

So, in the other thread the OP receives a broken amp, ships it back and gets NOTHING for 4 months from the other party. Meanwhile, the other party celebrates new gear since this all went down.
Ridiculous?????

Now, this OP pays a large amount of cash for an item and 9 days later, nothing.
Again, ridiculous?? REALLY???

Remind me not to do business with you.
+ 1 on THAT !!!

Tomorrow will be 10 days. Not good. File and move on. That is a chunk of change to be out. When I have shipped guitars out, I've done it the next day after payment and made sure I took a pick of the box with the shippers addy to make them feel comfortable that I was doing my part to make sure it got to them.

Ridiculous? Give me a damn break. If I pay for something on Monday morning you are telling that I am unreasonable if your lazy ass can't get it shipped out by end of day Tuesday or first thing Wednesday morning worst case scenario? You have my money, I want my stuff. What don't you get in the transactional process? I don't care what I have going on. When I sell something and take payment it is properly packed and I get it out immediately. Anything less is unacceptable in my book.

-hope it all works out man, I would of filed at day 3 with no communication, or "no boxes" WTF!! FedEx, UPS & the USPS have all kinds of boxes,

-filing a claim will usually light a fire under there ass-

-here's something I've noticed recently, I've been selling a lot of gear on reverb, I've had people use the "buy it now" feature, then I hear zero from them, I always message and try to build some sort of communication, like thanx for buying, I'll be shipping tomorrow, you got a great deal, how do you want me to ship the tubes, boxed or in the amp, blah,blah,blah.... ZERO RESPONSE, NO FEEDBACK GIVEN.. never to be heard from again... anyone else seeing this as well? I mean the transaction goes through fine, just seems odd to me.

I only recently started selling on Reverb (this year), but I've noticed this too. I think it's just some people seeing this the same way as if they buy of Amazon or whatever where the communication they receive from you is pretty standard and not a "real" person they are buying from.

I have had that happen on several items I have sold. I am a reverb "fast shipper" but there has been a handful of pretty high dollar stuff that I never hear from after payment. At first I tried to get a hold of them again now I just let it roll. It is weird though.

Good.. Im glad to be proven wrong in this case! Surprised it was ebay

Now wait for your buyer feedback to come......ha ha...if you even get any feedback.

I recently bought an expensive guitar from Japan. Went thru a lot of crap from the seller, not bad but definitely not a smooth transaction.

On my end I paid quickly and was no drama.

Did I get any feedback for doing my part correctly? Nope. Not even a 'boo" on a large dollar transaction.

I get 5 star ratings on $2.99 guitar picks. WTF?

I hate douche sellers.

The guitars were found on eBay, but transacted privately.

I'm glad it's working out too, but it was perilously close to getting scuttled.

About buyers on Reverb, I´ve had the same thing several times. No communication or response what so ever, except a Paypal payment out of the blue, it just seems odd to me even if the deals went through smoothly.

Glad you´re getting the guitars, hope they are as described!

Re; Reverb. for the most part, all my transactions have had the appropriate amount of communication (which for me is A LOT). about 4-5 weeks ago however, i sold a $300 item (HD500). The buyer emailed a question, i answered within 5 minutes, he responded "...ok, great" immediately, then 5 minutes later PP pings me with the Payment made notification.

I emailed the buyer 5 times after that, asking for shipping confirmation, special requests or shipping concerns, clearing of old presets...i even emailed him once it arrived, told him the person it was "signed by" and asked for confirmation he had it in his hands b/c the named signed wasn't him. I got NOTHING in return. Then this week out of the blue, i get a 5 star rating. Weird.

Hope your new axes show Saturday no worse for wear.

Thanks guys - hoping they show up intact! They're almost as old as I am, so "mojo" is expected to some degree, but at the very least 100% functional...I hope!

Regarding Reverb - it's a different thing than eBay or private for sure. I do well there, but it's just very disconnected by comparison. That said, I've had a couple really good experiences there too.

Too bad I moved away, or I'd have you over to check out the new toys! :)

I've never used Reverb, though perused it a fair bit. I do use ebay and I'd guess that half the time, I have no communication with a seller beyond buying the item and sending payment. It's certainly different than the old days when you had to work out all the details of shipping between buyer and seller! Some of this is that the bar is so high now for up-front info on ebay that I generally just move on if I don't have a complete set of pictures and a detailed writeup of the item (or know enough for it not to matter) now.

Doesn't bother me to just get an order/payment on eBay or Reverb. I'll usually send a quick follow up thanks etc., but as long as I get the money and ship it out quickly and well packed, there's really not much to discuss.

I sold 3 items on Ebay yesterday. I shipped them out first thing this morning.
One UPS, Two USPS. Tracking was uploaded as soon as I got home.
Pack it well and ship it fast. That's how you do it!

By the way, I hope you post some pics of the guitars after all this drama! :)

Here's the details:

Tuesday 4/11
1. Approached seller to purchase one guitar.
2. Seller replies, and says, he's interested in working a deal.
3. Discuss prices, and then he says he has another guitar, so we discuss a package deal.
4. Came to an agreement on price.
5. I paid immediately after we agreed.
6. He said he would go to the studio over the weekend to pack them up and send out Monday 4/17.
7. I replied that was okay, and that I was SUPER STOKED to make this deal.

Monday 4/17
1. Emailed seller to see if he had tracking information for me.
2. He replied that he "got to the shop late today and found out he was out of boxes. If the boxes show up I'll get rates for Fedex and USPS and we can go from there. Talk tomorrow."

Tuesday 4/18
1. No communication from seller.

Wednesday 4/19
1. Emailed seller - how are things coming along with getting the guitars shipped?
2. "He is trying. Lots of orders and customers today - will stay in touch"
3. My thought - 1) who is "he"? 2) Am I not a "customer" at this point? 3) "will stay in touch" - NO SHIT you'll stay in touch!! You have $3300 of my money in your pocket! That doesn't answer my question!
4. Email to seller - tomorrow will be a week since I paid you. I'm trying to be patient, but you're sitting on $3300, which is not exactly a small sum of money, and all I have is "will stay in touch". Can you please give me a date that they will ship? You would expect the same if you were on my end. Thanks.
5. No return email from seller.
6. Realize I paid him 8 days ago - emailed again and simply mentioned that tomorrow will actually be 9 days since I paid you.

Thursday 4/20
1. Checked email. Nothing.

I want the guitars, and I am selling some stuff to off-set the cost, but I'm just not having a good feeling. Thinking of emailing and saying I need tracking details by tomorrow, or I would like a refund. Sucks, but I hate tainted deals.

Am I out of line here?
Hell no you are not out of line!
