Yup you got it! You can hear the clarity and crunch through all that power with the low ouput pups. Joe uses dual 59's in his Soloist but the Lead player may use a JB in the bridge of his RR5 and a 59 in the neck. Which is stock for that guitar I believe.

Is the '59 bridge a new thing? I've read from a few different sources in the past they both use JB's in the bridge.

The off the shelf SLS Joe primarily used befor this album was a dual 59' setup.
But currently he is using a Custom SLS made for him by Jackson and I am reading now that it has the JB/59' setup.
 
Just an all around great band, one of my favs for sure!
Can't wait to catch them again on tour! :rock: :rock:
 
I saw them live in Austin a few years back. I'm so glad i did. One of the best live bands i have seen in a long, long time. Except Slayer of course :rock:

Totally meat and potatoes but they have that magic of making their gear work for them. Talent you could say!?!?

I'm going to see them again just so i can hear the drummer, fucking kicking!

They look like they're having a good old time as well :rock:
 
Thanks for the replies and the amp settings. I might give those a try on mine.
 
I love The way of the Flesh. The drummer is insane and they have a crushing guitar tone. Is quite refreshing that they don't really do guitar solos, just very interesting riffing with precise squealing! My son turned me on to them!
 
As much as I try I just havent been able to get into them...
 
They are finally working on a new album. They even built their own studio for it :lol: :LOL: . Looks like they are using the 5153 stealth on it too...

Listened to them for the first time just last week. Love it. Cool stuff.
 
I really like their album "from mars to sirius" after that, meh...
 
I get a boy band metal vibe from songs like L'enfant Sauvage. Bummer.

Also, I don't like the programmed sounding drums. Also, the kick is waaaay too loud. I don't like that style of mix. Very distracting.

This^^^ They completely blew Mastodon off the stage. Gojira is a wrecking ball of a live band.
