Badass . Let's here some clips!

Didn't Billie Joe Armstrong use one of these for Green Day's early records? He had some great tone back then.
Yea, that mod was named the Dookie mod. The lead mod is what Doug Aldrich uses. Sounds like this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXr1TDzViBk
The DA mod is actually my mod as is Dougs main amp used in that clip, his other Marshall is a duplicate
At the end of the DVD he credits Martin Golub and Mark Cameron.

According to Doug his actual setup and main amps have not really changed in 10 years. He does have an extra head in rotation that is usually not on.
The core of his tone has been the same. He has his 2 favorite heavily modded Marshalls, the original one I did and the Duplicate that Martin did. Which one is favorite always depends on the tube health.
These are based on the 3+SE channel 3 which is my design.
I did add the whomp to his main amp a few years ago, he is bringing that one back for the Whomp II
I do believe I or JS Technologies are credited on the live Still of the Night set, I don't track down every credit nor does that tell you very much since he hasn't dealt with Cameron for many years.

That's info John. Nothing like getting info straight from the horses mouth. Your Aldrich pickups rule too.

Hi Mr. Suhr,
I wanted to ask you something about the amp you're working on for Doug, I read something on a thread and I was fascinated about it.
What kind of amp it will be? Can you tell us something more about it? It will be a DA signature model?
And I also wanted to know.. which kind of valves Doug uses on his fave amps?
Thanks a lot,
Stefano

Well I actually talked to Doug a few times this week and just sent him a bunch of new stuff to play with for a project he is doing.
I am also building up another (different that his other amps) amp from one of his old Marshall chassis for him to have fun with.
His favorite is still the original. I always install Chinese 12AX7's but a jj in V1, JJ's for the power tubes.
Reliability is key here and they seem to be the only ones that stand up.
Doug is using a bunch of gear right now of ours but I'm not at liberty to get in to details.
He has been very busy with his new baby and currently working on.... some new stuff !
Sorry to keep so much under wraps but Doug prefers to tell people himself what he is up to.
I'll tell him you all said hey though!
