I don't dislike Rich at all. His flip lop nature was very evident back around 2001/2002 when he was a very regular poster on the Institute of Noise/Line 6 forums. He did it then and did it now. No biggie. IMHO, something seems off with Rich. He may have emotional problems or an issue with self worth. I am not trying to analyze him. I wish him the best and maybe he will come back when he gets sorted out.
 
Hearing Rich start off every post with, " I own a 20th Shiva and PWE Event Horizon" is etched in my mind like hearing Andy from Pro Guitar shops say " I'm plugged into a G&L Legacy into a 65 amps Soho. :D

Forums are a quick little escape from time to time and a great resource of info. No need to pull the plug on forums.

But I think forums can mean a lot more to some people than others for various reasons, and taking a break sounds like a good idea IMO if health issues need to be addressed and if it might be difficult to control spending based on tone quests that seem impossible to fulfill. Hopefully along with taking care of himself he'll keep a guitar or two and a simple amp setup, letting the music become more fun and being satisfied with the tones available.
