Best bang for your buck.

Thanks for the reply. I've heard about Egnator amps but haven't really checked them out.
Can't hear them locally but that's what Youtube's about. Thanks for the idea.

Need a lot more info. Budget, number of channels, loop/no loop, tube type, ect... would help narrow it down a lot.

The Tweaker was the first thing I thought of when reading the OP actually.

Yea. Probably within $500 to $800 range. Preferably with send/return.
Single channel would work, I can use pedals for gain when needed.
Maybe something with clean high end.... Fender?

I used to own a Mesa Boogie MarkllB 60/100 combo which was had great tone
with 6L6's but needed to be cranked for it to really shine. So maybe a lower power 6L6 amp would do the trick. Maybe even EL84's. Any opinions on the Fender Hot Rod series amps.....
Something UK made?

Checked more into the Tweaker 15. Looks like the one that will do it for me. Price is great too. Need to sell my 50 watt Voodoo Plexi first, then I'm getting the combo.

Thanks for the input, guys.

Egnator tweaker or rebel. Jet city 20h w/ loop mod. Marshall class 5 head (has no loop tho). Fender blues junior but has no loop but sounds very nice. You mentioned the hot rod series which are nice amps but they are too loud for bedroom jamming unless other people in your house wont mind, definately not a "bedroom" amp).

$84 dollar Valve Jr. with your pedals of choice in front of it :)

cant believe i forgot to list that since i have one. Cant beat the price for what it is. PERFECT bedroom amp, just not sure about recording.

Yea I was looking at the Fender Blues Jr also. Actually the NOS. Definitely has a nice tone. I agree about the Hot Rod's probably being a bit too loud for my needs. The Tiny Terror sounds nice too but a little out of my price range right now. Haven't really heard of the Valve Jr but will surely look into it.

Man, thanks for all these suggestions.

Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 18.

Maybe some of the Blackstar stuff...

What solid state amp are you playing? In general, I prefer solid state/digital to tube amps by a LOT at low volume.

I'd recommend a Blackstar HT-*. I use a Blackstar HT-20 for an inexpensive play around amp. It has plenty of clean headroom, sounds great dirty at bedroom levels, records nice, has a loop, reverb, etc. In fact, it sounds so good sometimes I wonder why I call it a budget amp. It runs $500 but the HT-5, etc are cheaper.

FWIW, I use the head with a 1x12 (port city OS) loaded with an EVM-12L. I like the EVM-12L because it gives me the same tone whether it's bedroom level or tear your head off volume.

The solid state i'm using is a Tech 21 Trademark 10 I've had for a while now. Just doesn't have that full, roundness of tone with more headroom that i'd like. I'm also looking at the Blackstar HT and Jet City 20 series amps and they look very promising. Hughes & Kettner is interesting but concerned about pricing... I''ll check that out though.

That Egnater Tweaker still has me excited :) But I have the time to continue looking.

Thanks again.

Baron Snott Watt it even has a direct out for recording
