Can anyone refer me to a good amp repair shop in the L.A. area?

Where exactly?

the Amp Shop in Encino

Jerry Dyer if your in OC...

I'm in Santa Clarita and I work in LA.... OC would be a little too far. I've heard some horror stories about The Amp Shops customer service...

I can't say enough praise about Greg Leon (Greg's Amp Repair). He's right there in La Crescenta, north of Glendale. Great service, straight shooter , quick turnaround. Look up his reviews on Yelp!

Greyson's Tune Town in Montrose (Next to Glendale) ...Quick turnaround time and great prices.

I avoid The Amp Shop like the plague - I've never had a good experience there. I would suggest Roy Blankenship. His shop is in Burbank now - let me know if you are interested and can't find his Burbank location.

Thanks guys... this is a great start! I'm going to call some of these shops tomorrow!!!!

Right on! I used to work there and am still a customer. Sam does all my set-up work plus he built my pedalboard. Does he do your amp work too? I know he does some, but I think they send some of it out?

Great mom-n-pop with a nice selection of guitars!

I mentioned the Amp Shop as I've known Tina there for almost 20 years... Your mileage may vary comin in cold I guess. I take everything to Jerry now anyway. I've had disturbing convo's with Jackie P... didn't make me end up wanting to use him.

If Roy Blankenship is available! no brainer. Check with Friedman, does he still do repairs? Or just his production & big boys..

steve used to tour with aerosmith as amp tech for a couple years. i'd take it here just for the entertainment value. he dubbed my ex-switchblade an "abortion". he absolutely refuses to work on that amp anymore and does not work on Mesa Boogie amps either ("take it to Mesa Hollywood").

I would love to take it to Friedman, I emailed them a couple times asking if they could do repairs on my JetCity 50W head.... never heard back from them. I think I mike go with Don Butler, he is super close to me.... or maybe Greg Leon, he has outstanding Yelp reviews.

NOE_1942, Dave thought he got back to you. Unfortunately we are not doing repairs on the Jet City. We are so overwhelmed with mods that repairs just aren't in the cards at the moment.
Don or Greg will do a great job!

Tina is awesome on guitars. The 2 times I went there it was different dudes doing Amps and they were horrible and overpriced. Plus I think they r so backed up they can't take the time to do a good job. Just my opinion based on 2 experiences.
