Got my Metroamp back!!

What's the story with these guys going to a 2203 circuit? Is it a 2203 preamp with a plexi power section? I've never had a 2203 sound like that.

A guy that posts over there under the name Rockstah did it and made a great sounding clip, and then it became all the rage. His clip does sound very, very VH, for sure. And yeah, the tweak was just in the pre section, I believe. Just cascading the gain. I'm not tech-minded enough to really understand it, or try it, for that matter. I'd be curious as to how it feels, moreso than how it sounds.

As far as the 2203 rockstah spec, its essentially a 2203 with 2 master volumes you crank one and lower the other. Very weird config but it sounds cool!!


The ralle spec is just a few tweaks and lower filtering and it feels great. There still isn't much gain by todays standards but the amp just feel and sounds right.

I just spent 2 hours on the Metro forum and Ralle is now using the 2203 spec for the preamp in his '68 plexi. He swears it's the closest he's ever gotten (which is saying a TON) and he is certain that this is what Eddie had done to his amp. Coming from Ralle that blows me away.
