There's something about it I don't like. I can't put my finger on it, but I just have no desire to get one. I'm not a huge fan of my Axe II either

You need them to copy silly.......NS10Fan":191496et said:This thing is scary. First digital modeling piece that I've heard that's making me question why I need the "studio amps."
been there done that and will never do it again unless it was absolutely necessary.killertone":hdoz3nxy said:stratotone":hdoz3nxy said:Think of an axe fx level modeller that you can model amps in your possession in about 5 minutes including setup time. Check out the clip I posted in the other thread - it's my '70 superlead, and there is no way in hell I ever got that close with an axe fx standard. Not sure about the II but I haven't heard anything that really sounded as good as what took me 10 minutes without even reading the manual.
This is one of the reasons that the Kemper will win the battle with the AFX. Even AFX owners admit that they have to tweak for a long time to get a tone they really like, some even say it took them months. I can't fucking imagine doing that.
I think people need to put this on there radar if they are interested in it and then wait a few months to see if it holds up before jumping in .ejecta":8bqm0lj7 said:Gotta love honeymoons. It will be hilarious when the Kemper becomes the new digital dog to kick around here in a few months.

It's the real deal.
I'll see if I can record an ok clip of my '70 Marshall that I profiled - it seemed to get it pretty good. It's a stock '70, I jumpered the channels, ran it through a hotplate and had it loud as hell even though it was attenuated quite a bit.
The effects are good, I know people bitch about the 'breadmaker' form factor but it's stupid easy to tweak an amp or effect parameter in real time. I haven't even updated the firmware yet.
Anywhoo, proof of the pudding for me will be live at a gig. But so far, so good! And the presets are actually useful - not just "wow, check out how many effects I can stack at once" like most modellers.
Hmmmm...I dunno not sure I fault the Axe for it anymore than I'd fault guys using a SUper Lead asking for sample settings.killertone":kmsczzqy said:stratotone":kmsczzqy said:Think of an axe fx level modeller that you can model amps in your possession in about 5 minutes including setup time. If it were almost anyone else, I may take this with a grain of salt. But Pete knows his stuff, glad you're happy with it.
