Nut Sauce. End of problem. I hardly ever break strings & my axes stay in tune.

is it really worth grinding up old pencils?
DING DING DING, we have a potential winner here Folks!!!glpg80":idvc5p7w said:Ventura":idvc5p7w said:As mentioned, I found my GraphTech experience somewhat short lived...the nut wore down fast. Now, onto an entirely DIFFERENT angle, I've used and am still seriously intrigued with bell brass nuts. Yes, brass. The sustain was sick, it added a beautiful richness to the strings, and it didn't wear down nearly like the GraphTech did.~Abstract~":idvc5p7w said:Graphite nut?
Just sayin',

there is something about brass guitar nuts - yngwie strats use them and i swear it had something to do with the sustain that guitar carried or something. i only demoed one for a few hours so i cant really tell, but if i were to ever build a strat copy of one, the brass nut would be a requirement not an option IMHO.
