Graphite nut lubricant vs regular pencil

u guys crack me up, u have a 3 grand guitar yet hesitate on spending the 6 bucks on the nut sauce is it really worth grinding up old pencils?

I put all my money into my guitars, no money left for nut sauce. I don't have enough money to eat, I don't have enough money to sleep.

I have just used mechanical pencils, but I will likely order some nut sauce soon.

You can always sit on an exit ramp with the sign"will work for pencils" around your neck.

Graphite nut?

As mentioned, I found my GraphTech experience somewhat short lived...the nut wore down fast. Now, onto an entirely DIFFERENT angle, I've used and am still seriously intrigued with bell brass nuts. Yes, brass. The sustain was sick, it added a beautiful richness to the strings, and it didn't wear down nearly like the GraphTech did.

there is something about brass guitar nuts - yngwie strats use them and i swear it had something to do with the sustain that guitar carried or something. i only demoed one for a few hours so i cant really tell, but if i were to ever build a strat copy of one, the brass nut would be a requirement not an option IMHO.

And ya, I'm seriously considering adding a brass nut to all my Lesters and main players strictly due to the quality of sound, longevity, and tonal response they offer. Used to be ivory or tusk or something like that - now they're high density polymer plastic

I'll take good ol' brass any day, just haven't gotten around to it.

I spent the $65 (including installation) and had a Tusq XL nut installed on my LP. No more pencils, nut sauce, etc required.
