Groans

I was specifically referring to threats of violence that were alleged within this thread to have occurred in the GOG forum. I agree that complaining bc someone called them names is childish. That’s what the ignore button is for, which is on the members themselves. However, if someone is legitimately calling for violence to be enacted on another human being, then that should’ve been dealt with by a moderator. BUT, if no one reported those threats of violence, then they have NO reason to complain about it here. Some were doing that, specifically claiming that threats of violence were issued, reported, and nothing was done about it. Now I see that those supposed threats of violence were never reported, and it was just people complaining about name calling.
My apologies if the 'you're fucked' sounded like specifically you are fucked lol. Ottawa valley colloquialism intended to mean 'people are fucked in the head if...'.

That's hilarious.

And expected; considering the individuals.

Saul Alinsky, Rules for Radicals:

"Accuse your opponent of what you are doing, to create confusion and to inculcate voters against evidence of your own guilt".

"Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules."

This is why one should go in with an "all rules out the window" mindset when interacting with these types, because fair-mindedness is not in their DNA; even though they will constantly appeal to it when getting hammered (right after doing some hammering themselves, of course).
At least you are clear that you feel your fellow citizens are the enemy. Most of us just think you are a p.o.s.

I was also able to deduce who the mods were referring to (since I'm clearly one of the offending retaliators). Too bad your comprehension is so poor, but that's to be expected.

I started to get my panties in a wad, and then I remembered that 1) I’m a grown man, and 2) to give you the benefit of the doubt, i.e., you didn’t mean nothing by it. 😁

Sorry kid, but your argumentum ad populum just "don't jive". Maybe four or five max.

Now, OTOH, if you think I'm a POS, that's great.

Because I know what you are.

And you and those other four or five are not my fellow citizens; not in my fucking book.

You should talk with your politically-charged "no step on snek" avatar.

Lol, politically-charged? When I joined here multiple people had "don't tread on me" avatars so I just chose this one on a lark. It's weird you and panhead latch on to that as a point of attack because I couldn't care less about that either way, and I probably don't know half of the things it's been used to represent over the years.

Dude, I got that several posts back. But the choice was made to have it in, and it was done. Then it was taken away. They knew what they were getting into when they created it. They only shut it down because one side (which very clearly appears to be the left) complained about it, and it was the very people posting in the threads doing the complaining. Don’t you see the irony in that?
Don’t you see the eroding of our ability to speak freely happening right before our eyes? Sure, this is “just a guitar forum,” but it’s happening all over the place. Don’t you see that shutting people down from freely speaking is a bad idea? You seem like an intelligent person, so I hope you can see how shutting people down from speaking openly and freely is a bad idea. I’m not just referring to this forum either.

I don't want to lump forum issues and world issues together. From a forum pov, from a forum that I guess seemed to want to be a venue for top manufacturers to come in and have a discussion, you probably don't want to mix a bunch of adults behaving in the cringiest most juvenile ways imaginable, with like trying to be the reputable official source of representation for Diezel, etc. These things don't mix well. You don't want to be a manufacturer or advertiser and be like, hey, come to this alt-right homophobic conspiracy shithole whenever you have a question about our products, etc.

So right, they had the option to moderate it and trim the fat off the forum, and they didn't want to. To me, that's the right approach and just part of running a forum, but when you wake up every day and III had started 10 more threads, no one can really moderate one person whose entire life is apparently spent in this subforum. So I can't blame them for not wanting to wade in.

Not for nothing, but if I am a representative of Diezel, and getting paid by the hour, or annually, and part of my job is to seek out prospective buyers to give friendly updates about products, take suggestions, to answer any questions and to pitch sales, searching off topic threads would be a colossal waste of time money and company resources, and I'd expect to get written up about it. And again, if I did not like what I'd seen, I would just stick to the gear threads like a normal reaction would be. I wouldn't "take my business elsewhere" because I didn't like what I saw in an off topic thread. Not to mention, these very alt people you speak of, could possibly spend $4k on an amp in the near future, and a sale is a sale.

But thats just me.

That's not the kind of situation I'm talking about. I mean if Rig-Talk's reputation becomes that of the off-topic section, then it's going to look bad for brands to associate with it. I don't know if this is too little too late, since I'm not sure what manufacturers actually hang out here anymore, but the same can be said for many advertisers.

Guess what?

This board doesn't give a fuck about your opinion of what their forum and/or subforums should or shouldn't be.

And, you're not contributing a single fucking yen (I would use "dime", but you live in Japan) to them, so you have 0% stake.

The sooner you come to that fact of life, the sooner your whining and crying will cease.

Start your own fucking forum if you don't like the way things are.

I keep telling you useless fucking soys to pick up a guitar and learn to play, yet here you are still - crying like the little bitches you are.

Please define what the sub forum “off topic” means?

So if you were a forum owner you wouldn’t have an “off topic” sub forum. We get it, yet here you are posting in the off topic sub forum. 🤡

If I were in the business of selling amps, I’d try and get on every single forum I could. I just wouldn’t engage in any political discussion bc it’d be bad for business. I’d sell amps to the right and left. And you know why? Because the money from both sides is the same color - green.

Says one of the guys who is currently arguing against the board's changes of what their forum and/or subforums should or shouldn't be. I'm not. Simply trying to point out there's practical reasons not to waste efforts shoveling your shit out of here, that don't pertain to a greater issue of free speech on the internet.

Judging by the posts during post-mortem "Game of Groans", here's what's really going on at this point in time:

The soys are still reeling from the prior thrashing they received.

They successfully got the sub-forum taken down.

And you'd think that'd be enough for them, but now they realize it wasn't enough to soothe their fragile little soy egos, so they continue to whine and cry about it.

You simply cannot give these degenerates an inch - they will lie, cheat & steal (take) a mile and continue lying, cheating and stealing to take more.

the astute observer will note that this is the micro level... which is reflected verbatim on the macro level.

I don't have time to keep reiterating this point. For the last time: it should be clear that there are things that don't belong on a guitar forum, regardless of whether it's in the off-topic section. Thinking, hey, it's off-topic, it should just be the entirety of pornhub, right there in the subforum -- by all means, that was off topic! Obviously there's a line to draw somewhere. The forum owners drew it. That's the game. I didn't play a part in that decision, but it just makes sense to me.

Where am I arguing against the board's changes?

I'm pointing out the disgustingly infantile behavior of you and your ilk... you know, the pussy behind-the-back whining to the mods you guys did that got that sub-forum closed down.

I'm also pointing out (and repeatedly, mind you) that you soys need to pick up the guitar and learn to play.

The other thing that you may or may not know is, I can make my own forum at any time; I recently closed one not long ago.

So, unlike you, I'm not beholden to any forum.

Okay, Murdoch, go for it. You might have to since it seems the mix of alt-right / anti-gay / 80s guitar that you want isn't well-represented currently.

(btw, none of anyone here is beholden to any forum)

It's a shame that a good number of big-time merchants, sports conglomerates and the like don't understand this very simple principle (as you illustrated above) :

Keep politics and business separate.

They'd rather be "woke".

The left started all this "woke" shit, and now this cancer has spread far and wide; guess they don't like the stink of their own shit.

You are most definitely not an astute observer. You are however most definitely in a serious state of delusional grandeur. It was you and your boy Picasso's homo accusations of everyone left of Qtardville and subsequent complaints to the mods when we fought back that did groans in.

Hey, what’s wrong with 80’s guitar? Is there a better decade for the guitar? I can get past of the other stuff you’re saying and let it roll, but dissing 80’s guitar is where I draw the line. 😁
