Probably few folks are still using an Intellifex, but for folks that had one, do you know if you can turn effects on and off with CC commands? The GCP has the IA switches that I’d like to use for this if possible. I already have some set up with program changes on the bottom row buttons, but would like to be able use an effect during a passage, without a program change.
If impossible, can the Gforce or another rack unit do it?

ground control pro works fine for that. set it to 4 presets and 8 IA switches. helpful hint, write down the cc numbers from the gcp and use those on the intellifex under controller assignment.set the number, then what you want to turn on / off etc...

Thanks for the reply.
I already have the GCP on 4/8. I know the Intellifex (online) accepts cc changes for some parameters, because I had an expression pedal on an FCB1010 changing the delay level on one preset...set that up years ago. Not finding the parameters that toggle delay or chorus on/off on the Intellifex.

Not sure what you mean by that. Don’t you assign those numbers yourself?

The Intellifex doesn’t have on/off for each effect in a preset. I believe you would need to control the level for each effect. I can’t remember if you can do that with just a simple on/off cc command or if you would have to sweep the volume in/out with a cc controller pedal. The Rocktron Replifex/Multivalve has the effect on/off feature.

Yeah, the Intellifex programs are essentially one big FX structure with internal routings and mixes, instead of the individual boxes of effects you find in a Replifex or similar. But any parameter that can be assigned to a expression pedal via MIDI can also always be toggled with a CC command.

Well, it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to toggle anything other than hush (and maybe the ducker). I’ll get my Mission expression pedal working, anyway. I might just go back to 10/bank so I don’t have to step through so many banks, and go back to 4/8 when I get the GCX...and get some of my pedals back into the mix.

you can still switch effects in and out with ia. you just have to think of it a bit different.
in controller assignment in the intellifex, set the controller number and parameter / XXXX level (ex: chorus level). set the lower limit to 0 and the upper limit to 100.set the XXXX level in the mixer to zero.
when you call up the patch, the level will be at 0, when you press the ia, the level will be 100. basically an on / off.

Check out the Voodoo Lab forum. John Clark over there is very knowledgeable and helpful.
