harddriver - Wow, I'm seriously humbled by that. That's a major compliment coming from you. You have a great ear for tone and have had some killer amps and gear. It really is rewarding to know that others are hearing the qualities in the amp that I was trying to achieve. That really is the true test.

The knob to left of Depth is negative feedback. I labeled it "(-FB)." Adds a lot of flexibility. There's also a 3 way switch on back to select 4, 8 or 16 ohm NFB taps. 68k is around 8-9 o clock on the knob and I run it there a lot. 68k at 8 ohm is a really good all around setting. 4 ohm brings the rawness. I believe I had the amp in 8 ohm for the heavier clips and 16 ohm for clean.

The v30's are an older set of really well broken-in Made in UK versions. I recently swapped out several cabs and speaker setups. These ones just do everything great. Very happy with them. I also wanted to voice the amp with something that's widely available.

I've had some inquiries about doing some mods. It would be amazing to be able to offer the mod to other guys who like the tone. I personally haven't played any other amp I own since building this one. It just does what I want with no compromises and that's a difficult thing to come across. Whether someone else will feel the same way about it, well I hope so. There aren't a lot of Marshall mod options out there these days, specifically those that are relatively versatile, going from clean to high gain without serious compromises. Maybe this would fill a void. It's more my passion for others to experience that than making a profit that would motivate me to do these.

I'm getting very very close to this amp being fully dialed in. There are a few things I'd like to experiment with. For example, I just ordered some small standalone turret boards a few days ago. I am contemplating moving a few components to their own auxiliary board for better separation of tone caps and resistors. I am very much OCD with this stuff and wouldn't want anything going out my door until I feel it's as good as I can get it. I have a few friends that have been asking for mods and I owe amps to first. Finding donors is also very difficult these days. I'd at least like to get a few amps into the wild to get some real world feedback from different ears and tastes. Hopefully I can build a few in the near future and offer them for sale.
