I've heard 'em (AxeFX) live, specifically Dweezil, and the higher up playing sounded like a cacophony of crap. Completely and utterly indecipherable. Yet, his side kick guitarists mic'ing Dr.Z's and Duende's and Shiva's sounded perfect :dunno:

I'm pretty sure that has much more to do with the (lack of) tweaking, combined with the sound guy's (lack of) work at the show.

Well there is a reason most use it live with a tube power amp. Even the Atomics are tube. Great for recording - live FRFR is another story. Why blame the sound guy if the other guitarist sounded good?

No offense dude, but I see a trend with your negative type posts on every thread that has to do with the Axe-Fx & all I can say is: "Quit the Denial, & buy one for your bad self already"!!!

In all seriousness though.......... I have a years worth of live video from my band, and it includes, a Bogner Shiva, a Diezel Herbert, a Diezel Einstein, and a Mesa Boogie Triaxis & 50/50 and then finally the Axe-Fx Ultra.......... Every rig in every video sounds good or bad depending on the FOH and the Tech that was running it at the time........... The only real consistency I've had in every FOH situation has been with the Axe-Fx, which I'm running "Direct" with an RCF310a FRFR monitor for my stage sound.

Yeah, it took some getting used to not having a 4x12 Cab ruffling my pantlegs on stage, however, in the long run, I'll never go back to the old school tube rig regardless of what venue I'm playing............ The Axe-Fx is "That Good"!

Too each his own though... ;)
