for me its a - gasp - DOD classic tube. I have used one for years. set w/level and drive almost all the way up, it adds some nice sustain and feedback to leads. However, for my rythym work its just way mudville.

Discuss.

I dont really have a guilty pleasure effect. I just use wah and a tad of delay/chorus. Keepin it simple is the way to go.

not much of an effect guy...but i use a wah from some leads :hide:

please dont kill me :axe:

guilty pleasure effect?

masturbatory wah wah

it's so cheesy and over used but playing a lead and just going crazy with the wah is fun

Definitely my Scrap Growler. I have no idea who made the thing or if it's even a real pedal and not just a random handmade one-off. :D It has two knobs (Swell and Drive), true-bypass (supposedly, but it is pretty transparent), and a casing made of nothing but pieces of metal bolted together. I bought it at a guitar shop yard sale for 20 bucks, and it makes the most deranged distortion sound I've ever heard. 8)

i like to turn my vox ad50vt to the nu metal model and add in the most exaggerated flanger setting i can find, then hit a power chord and let it ring.

My DS-1?

:D

Not that I'm ashamed of it or anything, I love it.

digitech synth wah, it makes weird noises and does the envelope filter deal, fun to mess around with and fairly cheap.
mooger fooger ring modulator - start playin' with knobs and flip some switch while letting a chord ring and you can have all kinds of chaos goin' on, good fun :spooge:

I used to have a Digitech Multi Chorus that I loved to use for 80's chorus sounds on my solos.

Phaser!

Although lately I've been tapping on the Earthquaker Devices Depth optical vibe pedal a lot. I like it as much as the Blackout Effectors Whetstone phaser.

I've been using a Phase 90 on bass, but I see MXR just came out with a Deep Phase pedal. Anyone try that yet?

Envelope Filters are fun. I had one for a minute. On bass, I can't get away from the Electro Harmonix Bassballs. At one point I had three. Now I use the Mooer Bass Sweeper, which is a clone. I love the fuzz switch. It's such a unique sound.

I don't feel guilty about it lol but my fave pedal is my Guyatone Stevie Salas Wah Rocker

Boss SD-1 is on all the time. Started using a Whammy DT on my new CD, probably used it too much lol

Pedals can be a really affordable tool/toy to inspire more pleasure than guilt IMO no shame!
