So after refusing to deal with shit monitor guitar tones live i took matters into my own hands. I bought this old Sunn Monitor and gutted it. I threw in a Celestion K100 and I have say I am quite impressed. Where the old electronics were, I sealed it off and will do the same where the horn was and added an input jack. I like the idea of the baffles out of the top. This is what I am thinking for a signal chain. Currently it is just coming out of the speaker output on my Mesa MKIV paired with a 4x12.

Line out to a poweramp (looking at the ISP Stealth) Out of the Stealth to the Monitor. This way I will have complete control of the volume. I could also throw an EQ in line.

I just need your guys thoughts/suggestions on this setup or a better signal chain. Thanks all and  on!

I just tried a Crate Powerblock from slave out of a Mesa Rectifier to the line in. Works pretty nicely. Compact size, too.

Hey Bert!!!

Thanks for chiming in on this. I will be in Friday to try that out. Here is what I am trying to do. See the image from Steve Vais rig.
