so after the greg howe laguna sparking my interest,

http://www.playlaguna.com/models/index.cfm?model=le924

are there many guitar manufacturers using this combination?

I'm trying to build or find a strat with a maple neck, and just a single coil in the neck and a humbucker in the bridge with a trem

any manufacturers out there already doing that? or must i resolve to frankenstrat style =)

any ideas?
thx

mid 90's ESP M-II's...
Late 80's ESP horizons
Jackson/Charvel predators

those are the 1st 3 that come to mind as far as readily available production models

Ibby RG560 (I think). I know one of the RG5XX series is that configuration.

thanks =0 i'll have a look

i'm considering buying parts, but if there's something out there already that'd be great

95 MII
I have long fingers, With Double Humbucker guitars I always hit the pickup while playing so I prefer 1 hum/1 single coil at the neck..

Prior to that I was using the Ibanez's that had 1hum/1sc RG565, 540PSH and a few others..

SC/HB guitars are really cool and fun. I believe ESP makes some models with this config.

Almost, the 560 has two single coils.

RGR 565 has it.

Also the RGR 465, which is a 2010-model, I believe.

It comes with an Air Norton in the neck originally, but it's an easy enough swap.

The Ibanez Joe Satriani sig now has a Hum/Single config. A little different body than the RG of that's more you're style.

I actually love the Look of a Fender Strat with a new pickguard, for exactly that setup. I think it looks tidy and cool.

That's my favorite pickup config. I went from this:

now that's what i'm talking about =0

did you need to cut a pickguard yourself? can't really seem to find one online

the satch model ain't bad, but i'm not a big fan , really want a maple neck

The problem I had with mine(because I only had one volume knob and nothing else) was getting the right balance in tone by using one volume pot.Traditionally the SC is designed to run on a 250k pot and the HB,a 500k pot.I actually ended up using a 300k pot and doing several mods in order to get the sound and tone right.Just an FYI.....

I love this setup, but couldn't find a 7 string with it.... so I made my own!
