From what I have heard from another member here who owns one, its a monster of an amp.

Yeah, he won't STFU about it. :D says the tone is the brutes, the gate is awesome, amount of control is insane.... If you look at the spec sheet, its gotta be the most advanced tube amps ever built....so far.

I'd love to try one, but I know the stores here will never have on in stock. I have the MKII, and if they didn't mess with the core tones it should be killer!

I used H+K stuff for many years without much issue (Access preamp and H+K power amp, Triamp, Tube 100, etc). However, I bought a barely used Switchblade in the last year that worked great for a month or two and then refused to save any presets (essentially making it a one channel amp that you have to reset every time you turn it on). I've contacted H+K support more times than I can count via their website and even wrote a letter. Have yet to receive a single response. This has changed my opinion about them forever. I've never, ever received a total lack of customer service (including a reply) from any music company ever. As intrigued as I might be, definitely would never drop the $ they are asking experiencing what I have.

In the other thread you say it's a used Coreblade

I don't post much because I'm fucking lazy and whatnot but since two of my very near and dear Brothers are making my ears burn I'll chime in.

I own it. Preorder from sweetwater. It is a phenomenal amp.

6 completely different amps in one.

Ch 1A pretty pristine clean. Almost fender. Very chimey.
Ch 1B nice Soldano type clean. Little dirty and nice breakup.
Ch2A Hot Rodded JCM 800. Very killer. Still getting to know this channel.
Ch2B a mean as hell 5150 or 5153. Unreal this channel is. Brings the brootz and then some.
Ch3A is a refined Rectafier. Fire breathing wholesome goodness. Nice mid cut with tremendous cut. I love this channel for thrash.
CH3B is where this amp enters uncharted territory. The most thunderous bottom end I've ever experienced in an amp. It's slightly mid scooped. When I play this channel in my drop tunings whales are having unbridled ass sex somewhere deep in the uncharted depths of the sea. I kinda wish this channel had a touch more mids but I've countered the lack of miss by only assigning one pair of power tubes. A Pair of Gold Lion KT77's. This channel needs care in choosing a cab. It will make lesser cabs crumble and beg for forgiveness.

This
This brings me to the point of assigning tubes to each channel. This feature is what sold me on the amp. It's unreal how much you can change the flavor of each channel by assigning different combinations of power tubes. The amp came with all TAD tubes, both power and pre. I removed the redundant quad of 6L6's and put a pair of the GL 77's. So I've got el34, kt77, and 6L6's. I tried KT88's and 6CA7 but ultimately came up with my perfect combination in the aforementioned combination. You can really get carried away swapping out tubes. The auto bias feature is killer as well making tube changes a breeze.

The built in noise gate is as good if not better than my ISP stuff. This is no easy task. I've had amps with built in gates that suck balls, IE Engl. The gate is assignable to whatever channel you want. HK really did their homework on the gate. Beyond impressive.

The amp has a built in boost that is assignable to any channel as well. I've never been a boost guy. Tried many and still don't get it but this boost is different. It adds just the right amount of bite that I think makes it work for me on certain channels with certain guitars. Once again, great feature.

The amp has a built in red box for recording or FOH goodness. I haven't played the amp live yet due to the fact that I love my Rhodes Gemini a bunch. It's like I'm cheating. I'm sure I'll get around to playing it live but so far it's only been at band rehearsal and at home. I've plugged the DI out to my PA at home and it does sound great. Just haven't tried the real thing yet.

This amp has really sealed the last nail in the coffin on my amp gas. Sure, I have a couple amps on my short list but nothing to make me want to sell a kidney. This amp is worth selling a kidney or some other unnecessary organ.

I own some of the baddest amps in the business and this amp is at the top of the compost pile. An engineering marvel if you will. Amp manufacturers need to take notice of this major accomplishment. This could possible be the the amp that all amps are based on.

Or not.

They hit a fucking home run in my opinion. No, fuck that. They hit a grand slam with this one.

Made this vid when I first received the amp. I've tweaked and improved upon the tone since this. Meh, is what it is.

Outstanding!!!! Thank you. How about some lead playing with a bit of delay?

Great post, mang. Very discriptive. The power tube abilities are amazing. I wish all amp companies would put in good programmable noise gates, but I am pretty sure only you and I are so obsessed with tight silence. (The whale ass-sex reference made me giggle   )

Thanks for talking me into the Gemini. I love my new amp.

No problem! I really suck at lead. Maybe I'll suck it up for you but I have a better idea. I have a friend that plays in LED Zeppelin tribute band that tours the world. He is slightly curious about the amp. I'm going to convince him to come over and play it with his preferred settings. I'll record it. He will do the amp much more justice than I ever could.

Let you know when I get it done.

Thanks brother. I only did it because of my deep infatuation for you. :inlove:

I'm really happy you are digging the Rhodes/KSR. It's top shelf brutality, no doubt. One of my top 5 for sure. Top 3 actually.

Wonder how close it can get to a Marshall? If it can get close to the 80s NWOBHM tones along with all those nice clean and modern metal tones that amp is a slam dunk

LMAO! You have a Stiff and a Peters right on top of each other. On purpose?

Yep, sorry, it's a Coreblade.

I will unless that requires me to sign up to Facebook. I still don't understand why they won't respond to their own website's "support" message links.
