Congrats!!!

I know you regreted selling the Jake in the first place.

The Jake (GMW) is still my main guitar! I've also been looking for another one, but nothing has come up in several years.

Sweet! Now sand the fender logo off the headstock and put a Charvel one on there... that's what Jake did to his. :)
+1

Hey Chris,
Congrats on the guitar purchase we know you have been looking for awhile. I understand the 3 guitar thing every time I go over three I end up one sometimes two.  You know if you sell the K-line now though Carl will think its because he told you he played it. Even though he was full of shit about it in his warped mind he will think it was him.

so has she cut you "off" yet? ;)

He he... I just have to tell her before it shows up on the doorstep, so I have a few days to wait for the perfect time. :)

Surely you can justify the guitar with all the amps you just unloaded and the inexpensive ones you picked up ;) !

My wife isn't going to be happy about this, but I've been staring at this for the past 3 hours and couldn't fight it anymore. I regret selling that GMW Jake E. Lee guitar and have been searching for one for 2 years now. This isn't the same thing, but it appears to be pretty darn close. I'm a sucker for hardtails and this guitar looks like the real deal. Nice features and it appears to be a killer guitar.

Eh... I don't really want to sell the K-Line, but I may do it if I like this guitar as much as I expect. YIKES... I don't want more than 3 guitars in my stable. Any more than 3 and one doesn't get played.

Chris

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do

Cool guitar! Hope it plays and sounds great! I know how much you loved that GMW... hopefully this will be what you are hoping...

This is a cool axe (not that you didn't know that)....but please know you inspired me to listen to the 1st Badlands CD today! (Ohhhh Yea)

Cool axe...If you don't dig the frets, just have it refretted....or get a different neck made to whatever specs you want.

Hey Thump,

I have your old GMW Jake. It's safe and sound here with my Blueburst.

This is an older pic, been meaning to do some new pics of my gear. I'm off this week so maybe I'll do a gear pic thread. :)

Yea, it still has your name painted on the case. I'm to lazy to try and get it off.

I can tell it a'int going anywhere, but if it ever did, I'd look you up on the net.

On a related note, I was just in the living room listening to the first Badlands LP.

That's a great looking guitar. The black, white and steel look nice together.

Wow. I have a blue GMW Jake just like that, I got it from Daver IIRC. I didn't realize there were more of them floating around.

To be honest, I don't really get along with the guitar. But I hang on to it because I'm such a Jake freak. I may end up giving it to my boy Jake, when he gets serious about playing. Then again, I'd probably trade it for a nice Wolfgang, or PC-1.

I used to have this semi-Jake clone:

It was this super light swamp ash though and sounded like crap to me so I sold it. Played great though...
