Hagen and MIDI

Hi…I’m new to this forum and I’ve just got my Diezel Hagen back after being down for more than 2 years! Anyway, it’s obviously awesome, but I don’t seem to be able to get it to respond to MIDI. I’m using a BOSS ES8, and no matter which way round I try to send PC’s it doesn’t respond. I know it has a 7 pin MIDI but I’m assuming the extra pins are for phantom power, and it does accept my 5 pin. Any advice would be great.

5 or 7 Pin should not be a difference, however there are different MIDI cables on the market. Do you have the possibility to check sending PCs to another MIDI device and it works?
Is ES8 sending on MIDI OMNI?

Check the midi channels on both devices... And make sure you're plugging the midi out of the ES8 to the midi in of the Hagen, it wouldn't be the first time.

Also, have you tested your midi cable with another device?
