Hagen owners. I need your help!

I have a 2 vh4's (08/blueface) and an Einstein. I have the opportunity to trade the '08 and the Einey for a new Hagen. Is Hagen really worth 2 of these gems?

I play in 2 different bands and the vh4's channel 3 is my sound in one. In the other I can use any of my amps, but Einey (texas mode) shines. I don't want to take my blueface to gigs so Hagen would have to basically fill the roles of both of these 2 amps.

I could sell them and probably come out a little smidge better, but I want Hagen!

Anyways, just looking for advice.

I can't speak or think for you on this. The Einy has its own thing going on, the V has its own thing going on, and the Hagen definitely has ITS own thing going on... I wouldn't jump in unless you'd already played one and knew what you were getting into. Seeing as you've already got your tools of the trade sorted out with the 2 bands, it's a bit of a gamble.

One thing I will say is that it sounds unlike anything else out there, and feels unlike anything else out there. And this is a very, very good thing

Don't do it. Two Diezels are better than 1. That's just a fact. Save up and buy a used one from the classifieds, then you can make a decision...

Yes, 2 are better than one, but are 3 better than 2? He's already got 3 (2 VH4's....'08 and Blueface....and an Einey). He's asking if he should trade the '08VH4 and the Einey for the Hagen. He would then still have 2 Diezels....the Blueface VH4 and the Hagen.

If I were you, I'd sell the '08VH4 and put some cash up and get the Hagen. Keep the Einey, the Blueface, and add the Hagen. 3 Diezels...all different.

I do not know if there is a huge difference between the Blueface and the 08/VH4. However I would also keep one of the Vs and the Einy and then enhance the rig with the Hagen.

Who is the rip off artist that can sleep with a shady deal like that. A vh4 n an einey for one ? Never! You can get 3k for ur vh4 alone. Just saw a Hagen go for 3100.

True - either one of your V's oughta cover the upfront costs of a Hagen.

I'm not a fan of the Blueface, er, let me say, I'm not a fan of 6L6's in my V... It's all personal. You oughta be able to float one of yer V's and get into the Hagen school of sonic bliss.

The blueface and silver are definitely different. Mo my blueface came with el34s so I don't know what you're getting at... Have you played a blueface? I definately prefer the blueface for recording... I haven't rehearsed enough with it to tell if I'll like it better live.

Heh, yeah man: different strokes for different folks. Personally I love mine to death, but I've also got on with every Diezel I've played (including my V). They're just fantastic in different ways and, quite simply, superior to other high-gain amps.

Good luck with the Hagen: I'd keep your blueface and Einy, then just save for it. One can never have enough Diezels

It all comes down to personal preference, and this is very personal. All I can say is that the Hagen, to me, is the finest sounding Diezel for my tastes, wants, needs and ears.

But this isn't to say it's the finest Diezel - they're all top-of-the-heap for every model offered. The beauty is, they all offer something very special and very different from each other.

Some cats dig standard, some cats dig automatic. Coupe, sedan, SUV. All similar, all very different - it's all in personal taste and preference.
