Hi, I'm new to the board, got a Hagen and I'm trying to use the switchable effects loop with a multi-effect unit to avoid the ADA conversions when the effects are bypassed. Mainly I'm wondering if anyone knows how to program the Hagen so I can turn the effects loop on and off via midi? I get how to set it up to change channels via midi but not quite sure how to program it to trigger the effects loop. Also I was wondering if the Hagen can respond to multiple messages at once .... say channel change and effects loop on. Is the switchable loop just programed as if it were another channel of the amp?

Yup.
Hook midipedal to amp and fx unit to switchable loop. Press (say) patch #3 on the midi pedal, select channel and press switch for the loop. Press store on the amp twice - done.

Thanks for the response! Sounds easy enough!

And thanks Peter! The Hagen is incredible!!

Hey there and welcome to the board!

What the guys here have said is correct, it is not difficult to switch presets on the Hagen. I love the midi capabilities, it's one reason I was drawn to Diezel in the first place. Beyond that, I simply LOVE the Hagen!

Anyway, I have a Herbert as well and have been wanting to find a way to switch functions and channels individually, without having to create new patches for every function change. At this point it is not possible. So, I just wanted to let you know that I have heard about another thing that might be interesting to you.

I have heard about a microchip that can be easily substituted in the amp (no special skills required) and it will allow you to switch the functions individually. Depending on your foot controller and its functionality, you will be able to individually switch the loop in/out, master volume 2 on/off, and mute on/off as well as change channels without having to create a new preset for each change. How cool is that?

Keep your eyes out for this, I have heard it will be available very soon and I am very excited at these possibilities!!

Have a great time exploring the Hagen, it has tons of amazing tones!!!
