Wow that was great!

Shame a 3 digit Standard had to go through that amount of work.

Rick Neilson has number 1

Simply amazing but I cannot for the life of me figure out why he did not put a prettier top on that guitar.

I like it though. It's nice to see subtle tops sometimes like an old LP versus the crazy double-stained super quilts...

Awesome work. I'm really happy he was able to resurrect that thing. I'm a big Hamer fan and those guitars are simply awesome. I'm surprised they don't get more love.

Man that was a cool story to read! It came out lookin real nice!

Holy crap that was a lot of work....nice skillz to have though.

Nonsense......................................j/k

I think its awesome as is but I was figured that since he put so much work into it that he would have used a nicer top.

Wow! what a great job on the restoration/resurrection.

So, he said he was $1500 into it all jacked up, add in parts and labor... What's this guitar worth now and what would one that didn't need restoration be worth? Just curious. I don't know much about the Hamers.

I don't really care about "pretty tops", but I agree with Gainfreak, for all that effort, I would have wanted something really special. On the other hand, it does look about as close to original as it can... unless I am missing something.

Very cool! I'll post some pics of my Les Paul undergoing sorta the same process when I get them.

That looks so freaking terrific. A 1st class Explorer. Paul would be proud...

I have wanted a Hamer Standard ever since I was a kid in Chicago listening to Cheap Trick and all the local bands who played Hamers. Hamers were just huge in Chicago.

Great thread velcro, thanks!
