Hi Folks!

I've had the guitar for a few days now and the amp for a couple of weeks!
Needless to say, I am super happy with both of them. I had returned the previous green dot reissue due to a manufacturing defect. I spoke to the distributor myself, they spoke with Ibanez and surprisingly they were very good about this and asked me what I was interested in and worked a very nice deal for me with my local retailer. Needless to say, I've extremely happy with what I received!

This is an Ibanez Prestige RG2627ZE. Basically a basswood body with the EMGs. I used EMGs years ago for a long period of time. I hadn't used them in a 7 string as of yet. Needless to say, they work amazingly well in this guitar and sound fabulous. So happy with how it turned out. Everything is built top notch, spot on fretwork, perfect neck alignment and a beautiful tight rosewood on the fretboard. Plays like a dream and sounds even better. I have my other J Custom with the Edge Zero bridge and this version with the 7 works perfectly for this guitar. I love it when I am able to get a guitar, plug it in and go. Perfect! Yup....it's black but the white binding on the neck and body give it a nice touch.

Sorry for the fingerprints.....can't keep my mitts off of her! :D

NAD! This was one of those seen but not really heard purchases. I was REAL nervous about this one. As anyone else would do, I checked the Youtube channel and a few other reviews. Everything pointed out to it being absolutely stellar. I liked what I heard so I took a chance. My first Marshall was a beloved JCM800 50W combo that I worked an entire summer cutting a lot of lawns to buy back when I was a kid. I loved that amp, only to have it stolen years ago. I've had several Marshalls over the years including a JVM combo a couple of years back. This one is a real different breed. It sounds very little to absolutely nothing like a regular JVM buy make no mistake, it is all Marshall. There is no fizz. That is what I hated about my combo. I think they added a choke to it to tame that and a few cap changes as well. The noise gate is fabulous on it! I love the fact that I have a lot of variety of tone with each channel having 3 distinct voicings on it with Ch. 3 and 4 having the same voicing. Such a useful setup with the footswitch as well. I really love the tones that come out of this amp. Even more so through the cab that I have. It's a perfect match for it. Through the Torpedo Live, it's amazing as well. One feature that I think really works nicely on this amp is the mid-shift. It's a nice piece that gives you the opportunity to shift it out a bit or keep it in for more cut when playing live. I had a gig on Saturday with it and the stage was small....I simply brought the amp head and Torpedo and went FOH. Sounded amazing and it was a super quick and easy setup.

All in all, I could not be happier with this amp. It's a keeper, no question! I had a Kemper before this and I kept thinking that my setup would be a bit easier with that but now that I have the Torpedo Live to work with, you just can't substitute that special sound you get from real tubes. I spend less time tweaking and more time recording and playing. I have a contract that I signed with a studio this summer in partnership with LionsGate to complete an original score on a movie that a few of us that work regularly together up here are completing and this amp will be doing the work for me. Can't wait!
So happy! Have to start building my pedalboard now over the next few months.....ugh......

Sweet!!! I have a Prestige 7 string that is one of my favorite guitars. I've been on an EMG kick lately too. I have been switching all my gigging guitars to EMG's besides my EVH Wolfgang and a replica Frankenstein and Kramer 5150. They sound good in the prestige? I haven't switched them in it yet. It's still got the stock pup's it came with.

They sound great!!!! I was surprised actually! I had tried them in an ash bodied guitar but they didn't phase me. In this one, perfect!!!

:)

Congrats man!

The Satriani amps have been getting a lot of love lately and I've been dying to check them out.

Very nice! So it was a three way there..

Guitar looks cool. Much love for the amp.

But can it do metal?
