I'm curious what kind of pickups he has in that blue LP.

fuck that esquire is sexy. that LP too. i need a guitar that color

Don't know much about it, but he does have a killer studio with lots of cool amps and guitars.

When Avenged 7 Fold started I heard the EXACT tone of Joe Holmes’ Farmikos album.
Which is a Jose A modded Marshall

Probably the same used in this video

Looks like a different amp to me. The one in the Drop D vid has some modifications (extra nobs where some of the inputs are). Probably typical diode clipping and Jose master but who knows.

That was a great video all around. Good song choices and his tone was stellar.

Sounds like a decent modded Marshall through many years of production experience.

Sounds good for sure, but dude, the amps you modded that I played were both ferocious and massive!! Man, I would love to have that kind of skill!! For those of you who don’t know, this guy has hit master levels of modding amps. His amps sound and feel amazing.

True.

OR it sounds like a stock amp pushed with a pedal.

He was wrong about a lot of the riffs but he was absolutely right about Lay it Down.

Op, have you tried any Wizards yet? I know from your past posts you said you're not a fan of any clips out there, but clips are clips. Based on the amps I know you've had and enjoyed, I'm betting an MC or MCII would be something you'd really dig.

He did say at the beginning and the end that he purposely only went after 'true Drop D' and no half tunes then Drop :dunno:

Wasn't super fussed over the amp tone but it got the job done

It's clearly not a stock amp behind him. He might not be plugged into it, but that amp sitting behind him has tell-tale signs of hot-roddedness lol

Sounds cool. Not a crazy amount of gain either. I dont agree with the songs he chose. Gotta have Unchained.

He mentioned why he didn't choose songs like that. He focused on songs that are in standard Drop D and not tuned down.

Have never encountered a Wizard in the wild. And I'm not particularly jazzed about any clips or recorded tones out there enough to buy one.

Rick appears to spare no expense so it wouldn't surprise me if it is a Cameron mod. I saw an MC modded 100W 70s Marshall in the local shop (one of two he'd likely use) early this year but that doesn't really mean anything. Good tone...OK list.
