has anybody ever tried this? for (stereo effects)

using two different guitars going into a stereo effect (namely, Boss PN-2) and going out into two different amps. Essentially contnrolling the tremelo pan of stage left and stage right guitars. Whaddya think? :?

The other guitar player would play the other guitar. Through his amp. Both of us through the same pedal, but into our own amps.

Sounds kinda useless and also sounds like a nightmare for groundloops. You can try it though.

well thats not going to work well for 2 differnt guitar parts
( maybe with lead harmony ) but for rhythm and lead it wont sound good
with both of you playing together ( unmusical )

but just for the record
what type of gear are you and your friend useing
and connection routings ?

we tried it and its cool but its hard to pull off.. Basically it sounds neat when we play the same riff and the guitars are panned back and forth. With a metal or stoner rock rhythm it's kinda kool, but it seemed to reduce the output for each of us.(probly cuz of all the other effects in each of our chains) I use a marshall SL-X and my buddy uses a mesa f-50.

Use your stuff (1 guitar in stereo) and put cabs on each side of the stage and you get the same effect without impedence mismatch and you get the same thing. Most house rigs are mono, so the audience can't tell if they can't hear your stage level, anyway.
