Have you ever exported (CSV file) your history of purchases from Reverb.com and figured out how much you've spent there? :student:

I was kinda shocked to see how much I've spent there over the years. I could use all that money right about now. :D

2016-2018 were my peak gear buying years. How times have changed.

It's slow as shit here at work and I'm a nerd. Carry on...

Reverb is a necessary evil for me. Im in good standing but i deal with them little as possible.

I worked for it, so there's that. I'd estimate what I have now in guitars, basses, amps, keyboards, modelers, effects, software, etc. I'm probably at least $80K to $100K invested in music gear.

it's been a while since I've bought or sold on Reverb, but... Make sure you are tracking anything you sell, so you can list expenses, and not pay more in taxes. I've read the gov is going to be tracking heavily this year, to the point where they will be able to detect side hustles based on bank deposits, and income to spending ratios. It's going to get crazy in the next few years.

Not from reverb but started doing an inventory of everything I have in my music, adding the cost I paid for each items and quit due to seeing the $$$ in that room
My old job had me spending hours sitting around my office bored as shit, so I made a spreadsheet with all of that info.

I arrived at the same conclusion.

I've had 140 sales and 118 purchases since 2014. It was a great place to sell until Etsy got involved. I've not sold anything there since Mar-2023.

Same, i've only sold a handful of things since the etsy takeover, and none of the high end stuff. There's no way i'm dealing with reverb headaches with something that expensive, not to mention taking the huge monetary hit.
