Have you guys wondered why the gear market sucks?

When I looked yesterday, there were over 700 used guitars on Reverb priced at 2499. I don't see a way to factor in shipping (an extra 125) in the results, but if we could, we'd probably be able to narrow that 700 down considerably because I also really want to know what the listing is.

Honestly I don't think a lot of these dudes live in the real world where real guitar players play guitar

They're like white collar hobby guys who buy this shit for shits and giggles and then whether they "succeed" is all based on the money in and out on the guitar instead of what they PLAY on the guitar

The same dudes complaining about a 9% discount being a lowball offer are the same dudes who are stuck in the past. Every sentence begins with, "I remember when..." and then they go to the bathroom 18 times an hour. They want to talk to you on the phone to do a deal (I get it, but also, stfu, I don't want to talk to you) and they'll call it doing due diligence about vetting your seller. Chill bro, put the fries in the bag.

It's funny because PRS guitars are completely wasted on PRS customers

That's why they have the reputation that they do

It's probably not like this online, but I've never met someone with a PRS in real life who could actually play guitar, and like played in bands

And the only band I've ever seen that played them was Opeth

And the terrible thing is that theyre great guitars, but only rich doctorlawyer guys play them

I would be a bit more about them if not for the seagulls or "doves" and fancy pants tops. I actually kinda like the satin semihollow they make. Vela? Not badly priced on the used market, may get around to getting one.

Don't get me wrong, a lot of them are very pretty, but my OCD prevents me from "playing" pretty guitars. Always has. Like I'll handle one and finger pick one and that's about the extent. Feel like it might be some subconscious thing going back to working at my Grandfather's shop as a kid and not being allowed to play them :ROFLMAO: So, have always gotten along with satin finishes, already well loved, and whatnot. Don't mind so much if it's an import, though.

I've played a bunch of the singlecuts and they were great.

Wasted on the owners honestly lol but they were great

I know one guy with a mid line PRS that doesn't suck. Before that the last guy I saw with a PRS around here was one of those barefoot players, lol. Even the boomer bl00z dudes in my area hate PRS and call them soulless and lifeless guitars. I've never tried one since I'm not a fan of LP double cut knockoffs or body shapes that look like woodticks.

I just read a couple pages of that thread and it made me proud I got permabanned from that place a decade ago. No one there actually plays the guitar—the only time their gear moves at all is for the obligatory “line up all my guitars on the couch for the TGP picture thread”.

PRS is literally the only thing guys play in the huge jam scene here, i think you have to have one to get in a band or something. other than that though, i never knew anyone with one either lol

I’d agree with them. I love the way most of them look and play, but they generally just sound way to sterile/lifeless for my taste even compared to a lot of other poly guitars
