So still kicking around my future Fortin purchuse and the other thing left to really mull over is the Natas. The thing that has me stumped is how much more this amp can be in regards to the level of gain compared to what I have heard or played so far from Mike. I played the Meathead on channels 5 and 6 and that was enough to bring down small buildings but maintained articulation.

Heard the Hulk for an hour and that was awesome but the Natas is bringing different trannies and other odds and ends so not really the same.

How much more can the Natas bring??? Just not grasping this I guess.

It's a good "problem" to have mulling over so many great choices.

Trying to buy something I do not have covered, one part of me wants the Bones, another a Cali SLP, and the little bastard in me wants the Natas

It really comes down to how metal you want to be. Natas is not a hard rock amp at all in the hot rod plexi way. His other amps cover that well. CH. 5 & 6 of Meathead are very heavy indeed and can do all sorts of metal styles but Natas will still be different and really honed in to that particular style (with a nice clean ch.). Ultra crunchy in your face super aggressive sick tone will be Natas' forte but great care is taken to ensure the amp remains musical and pleasing sounding at the same time. Like all of Mikes stuff

From what I gather it's like getting hit in the face with Satan's two-ton testicles. You will need to be prepared with burn ointment, a post-whiplash neck brace, and a bib.

Sounds like you need to give Mike a call.

I will when I get my crap together, I am close to figuring out where to go. Dont want to waste his time with random tire kicking.

The Natas interests me the most, but I have to be honest I'm not currently playing out at the moment and not sure if I'll be able to extract what the amp really has to offer in my basement. I do get to wind out my amps fairly regularly though, just trying to be realistic.

Then call Ralph first ROFL!!!

Given the purported ultra/uber high-gain faceblast nature of this amp, I'm curious to know if it'll have or retain the ability to clean up (to any reasonable degree) when the gtr volume is rolled back. I'm guessing it won't, or not enough to really be meaningful and so channel switching would be required... still, very interesting and intriguing amp!

I get to blast about once a week and have several outdoor gigs this year, of course not one song would need the greenback destroying gain of the Natas

That said the Cali SLP would fit real nice for those gigs.

I have talked to mike and after talking to him I want one, but not until the first of the year this thing really sounds like it's going to be a true beast in every sense of the word. I can't even fathum what this thing will sound like...

Its not going to out-gain a 5150, ENGL, etc. Of course it'll have plenty of gain, but its more about quality over quantity. The gain ch. will have a somewhat lower gain mode.

The Bones would be my pick. Even though it's 1 channel you can till switch between 3 gain modes, that would cover lots of ground.

But i can't wait for my Cali Mod

Yup, the HCAF crowd thinks that gain = tone. My response to that is, take a Metal Zone and put everything on 10, then plug it into a JC120. Tons of gain sure but what's it sounds like.

I still remember how the Engl Powerball was the be-all-end-all of amps because of it's 4th channel. :bleh:

Do i need a Strathead guitar to be 100% legit now? :D

Hell no, tired of reading you bitching about them

There's definitely a point of diminishing returns when it comes to gain. Why distort a square wave signal even further
