Mark said it was an early 90's mod. This fucker rips too. I have been out playing the shit out of both the last couple hours and this one to me has a little more grunt and edge to it. I've got them both tubed with SED's and Penta Chinese in V2/V3. Your old one, I put a real NOS Mullard in V1 and the other has an RFT.

That Aldrich is a pretty cool amp, i owned it for a while and used it a lot for band stuff. I found the Frequency Select set to the most open/midrangey tone worked the best for live use, while the other two settings got buried a little bit. I also liked to pull out the extra Gain pot on the right of the jacks, and smack the front end with a clean boost/OD.

Steve we must be of the same mindset. I just picked up a 78 jmp in better shape than the 77 I put up on her a couple weeks ago(that deal did not happen) thats why I got the 78. It's going to Mr. Dave F. Then I will be looking for an jcm 800 that will go to Mr. Fortin for a monster mod.
