I know that the golub and suhr aldrich's are alike, but what differances if any do u notice between them? how does the cameron aldrich differ? What mod did voodoo do on that 800? why no freidmans?

1) Well, the original Aldrich amp was designed by John and built for Doug. Component wise I am sure they are similar. The Suhr mod has the Whomp II switch in the back, like the OD series amps so this adds in some depth and bottom over the Golub. John uses a solid state FX loop with a line/inst. level select where Martin's is a tube buffered loop with a send level. Both are good, time correct amps with low noise floors and plenty of gain on tap. Martin still builds and John doesn't do mods anymore. There are only a handful of John's floating around and I am glad I have one of them.

2) The Cameron Aldrich is a beast. It does 80's onwards, heavy drop tunings rip though these amps. Very articulate and straight up in your face. Tons of bottom, top and everything in between. It would be my desert island amp.

3) I bought the Voodoo amp already modded. It has Mercury iron in it. There are no additional tubes, controls, push pulls, or other switches. So, I assume it probably the 2nd level mod, whatever Trace calls it. But, the JCM800 2204 to me is one of Marshall's finest out of the box amps ever made. It is a nice base for simple mods or stock. It has a little more balls than stock.

4) Friedman is too busy making Brad's rack :D . He stays busy. I was going to send an amp recently, but he's got his hands full right now. I wouldn't go for a Kitchen Sink though. The BE is Dave's signature dish and along with a few post preamp EQ controls, it is great.

The 3 to the left are rear loads, the one you see to the right under the Fortin is a frontload, and there is one more front load not in the shot.
