Lasse - I haven't played mine in over year, so I can't really say about the settings. Mine does not have a boost or loop. But, is foot switchable. Honky/nasally is reminiscent of the Snorkler mod that was done for Cantrell and the gain/trim is the precursor to what became known as the Cantrell mod, on the Fish that followed. Are any of your preamp tube sockets bypassed when you look under the chassis?

I can send you some gut shots. It's one of Reinhold's science projects though.

Oh, short a 1/4" plug and put it in the boost jack and see if it boosts. You may have to have a look at the switch board and see how it is wired though.

thanks, yeah, this amp really has got the AIC Facelift tones and is fantastic for thrash metal etc (I'm gonna post a video in about an hour).
doesn't look like any of the sockets are bypassed, it's 6 12ax7 in total, the original three and three more on an additional board (which holds the clean/crunch channel I believe).
Then there's another board with the tone stack (seems to be some variation of the 2550 tonestack) and a third one with has got the boost etc on it (well, at least the jacks).
I love the amp, it sounds fantastic, I just with the pots had a different taper (the 100k mid pot in this amp is linear, the 100k mid pot in the original 2555 TS is log, so I'll perhaps try replacing this lin pot with a log one and see if it helps

Thanks heaps for your info, I wanna learn as much about this amp as possible..."snorkler mod" and "cantrell mod" is definitely a start, so I've got something to search the forums for now

seems like he added a similar clean channel than what he did to mine (that extra board in the corner), the rest seems to be doing the switching or something?
seems like he hasn't done the tonestack mod to yours.

The 70's was good to Reinhold.....

Reminds of an erector set we had as kids! The board on the input side is the same, just the science project design before the blue boards were made. The tone stack adjustments are on the little board with the blob of silicon. The switching board is the one in back toward the PT. As shitty as it looks and with everything being like an afterthought, the amp is well ground, quiet as a mouse at idle, but loud as fuck. This one doesn't have the gain like yours. It's basically a Plexi with some superb tone control. But, it is not something I will use and sits in the closet and in my way. Would probably sound great with an attenuator. I thought I was getting more along the lines of yours when I bought it. I am just waiting for the right moment to talk my 50% loss on the sale......
