I have 3 speakers available -
Celestion Greenback
WGS Veteran 30
WGS ET65

Which 2 of these should I put in my 212 cab to go with my 50 watt Chupacabra, and why? Or should I go for some other type of speaker?

I’ve heard great things about Celestion 30 Watts (not V30s) with Jose/Cameron style amps.

Is that that G12H30?

Depends on what style/music you play but personally there is only one choice listed, greenbacks

I've never played the WGS but man I really like the Heritage greenbacks

They sound absolutely phenomenal for everything from classic rock to balls out death metal. I use them with a late 60's JMP 50 clone (Germino club 40) for classic rock and they sound awesome; perfect amount of sweet grit added to the tone and the mids just crunch. And then I switch over to various high gain heads and they flat out rip for thrash, death, and modern metal.

Edit: I WANT TO TRY A CHUPA BAD!.

Someday.

I believe these are the H30 anniversaries. Most of the Cameron owners like the anniversaries best.

First, try the 65 with the GB. Next, switch out one and put in the Vet 30....test all combos and see which one you like best.

The heritage 30's Mike, are they made in the US?

These are the G12 EVH speakers which are supposed to be 100% Heritage greenbacks, just relabeled, and they are made in the UK far as I understand.

Those are only 20 watt, so they wouldn't handle the power in my 212.

They're actually 25 watt; they're just labeled 20 watt for historical marketing purposes.

There are two types of G12H30s that are produced today, the Heritage H30(30w 55 or 75Hz Greenback) made in England or the H30 Anniversary made in China. Cameron owners for the most part dig the Anniversaries best with their amp, either by themselves or mixed with V30s like I have in a B cab.
The EVH speaker is the same as the Heritage G12M25, but less money vs the Heritage, last I knew they were made in England. The EVH is labeled 20w but as Mike said is really 25w.

I ended up with a mix of V30’s and H30 Anniversarirs. The Abby’s do need some breaking in but it’s worth it. Simply order Hellatone 30s and request for them the leave the sticker off. They will send you an actual H30 anniversary for $115 shipped

I like the anniversary H30’s.

I absolutely hate the heritage series Celestions. They are dark and loose sounding for my tastes. I’d take the Chinese greenbacks over them by a mile...of course the Chinese greenback needs to be broken in to sound it’s best.

Vito the GB, because no matter what your 212 will only have a 50w handling capability once you put one of them in there.

The Vet30 and ET65 are a great pairing for classic rock, hard rock and even metal and will make your 212 120w handling.

This is what I have in it now. But I was wondering if there would be any better choices. I see lots of recommendations for GB style speakers with the Chupacabra.

I've got a Yeti 100, an English Greenback loaded Splawn, and an old Marshall with the original G12-65's. The Yeti sounds equally killer through both. Greenbacks are grittier, brighter with more pronounced in the mids. The 65's are darker, fatter and sweeter sounding. Both equally awesome, just different.

What about introducing a Creamback into the mix then?

Isn't the ET65 basically WGS's version of a Creamback?
