Help with wood combinations

The gas has gotten the better of me, and I am strongly considering sending an order to Carvin. I am thinking about a neck through guitar with an ebony fingerboard. The default model is an alder body with maple neck. I have read that that may be too bright. Should I go mahogany body with maple neck and ebony board, or mahogany body with mahogany neck and ebony board? Thanks

I went mahogany body, mahogany neck and maple fret board on my custom Carvin build, it's an amazing mix of tone and brightness and looks absolutely killer IMO
