What you can't sell these amps for $999? Whats wrong with you.

Just kidding, boy do I know what goes into putting out an amp like this. Looks Cool, can't wait to try it.

Really! - it is crazy what some folks think hand built, high quality amps should sell for. I wish it were possible, but you and I both know it isn't....

Next time you are out here, I'll have a production prototype for you to check out, Brad. I'll bring it out to Tone Merchants when you are around...

Steve

What? You mean you're not willing to design an amp, source the parts, and build it by hand for free????......Pffffttt...1%er :D
Does this mean you'll be starting "Occupy Henning Amplification" soon? Slacker... :D

Steve

I very well may start occupy Henning Amplification.....at least if I don't get a chance to hack around on that thing :gethim:

although.......it is cold.....and I'm not big on camping....also kinda fond of showering.....hmmmm  maybe I'll just ask nicely, instead :D

HA! Are you kidding - I want you to make some clips for me!

Steve

I really dig the looks of this build and I like the options that it comes with also. I am very interested in checking these out, keep up the good work and keep us posted on the progress!

B. You have Curt (or should I call him Mr. Anderson? :worship:) right down the street :D

Pretty sure I'm ain't bringing much to that party, but I'd love to try the amp :D

Well now... look at Mr. Modesty...

Gimme a break, bro - I love your clips...

I'll definitely be making some clips, and I'll see if I can get Curt to do so as well, but, the more the merrier IMO... You'll definitely be playing the amp...

Steve

Pots showed up... Amp is DONE!!!! Got other plans tonight, but I'll comb through the wiring one more time tomorrow, then fire it up to find out where this thing is at... Pics:

Nice work Steve. Your work looks really clean. Can't wait to hear it.

I like how you can get at the powertube sockets through the holes in the pcb. :)

I don't think I've seen anything like that usually the sockets are chassis mounted and isolated away from the pcb, or they are directly mounted to the pcb and you can't get at them without pulling the board.

Can't wait to hear it.

Nice work Steve!

How much of the cherry picked stuff like caps, resistors, etc. that you used on your PTP were you able to incorporate into the PCB?

Or for that matter, how happy were you with your original choices in the PTP proto?

wow, nice work Steve! The gutshots remind me of a Diezel, lol. Your price point seems reasonable considering what you are getting, features and build quality. I love the fact that you are building them first, then selling. From the ampfest clips, I think you are going to need to setup a waitlist though. :D

Nice! Congrats, Steve

When's demo day? :D
Hopefully soon! Ya never know though - Still have to test and see if the design was perfect. I'll tell you, it never is though...

There are actually a few guys that are doing the power tube sockets like I am. Mako comes to mind...

In the end, the PTP proto ended up being a hodgepodge of a lot of different components. Some nice, others, just what I had laying around. It sounds great to me, so I guess I'm pretty happy with what is in the amp...

Since the PCB version is a completely new layout, I wanted to take advantage of radial mounting and some other things, so I chose basically all new components. I went with the good stuff where it counts though - for example, you'll see there are a lot of WIMA polypropylene caps throughout...

Agree. Reminds me a lot of the guts on the Hagen. Those fly leads and the complete layout looks well thought out and obviously, well executed. Congrats brother Steve!

Steve (the other one) :D
