Again, no one cares that the name Bottle Rocket is already taken by Mesa Boogie ? Albeit for a tube preamp pedal, but still....
Nope, do not care. There are a lot of products with that name. And why would anyone else care except me?

I'l update on the hand thing in the other thread... Bottom line, I was wrong about how long it takes to work - the effects of the botox take time - 5-7 days before anything and 1 month for peak affect... Waiting... :)

After a few days of reflection, I may have grown to like the logo, assuming it is not too large. I will go ahead and give you the green light to move forward on this project ;)

How long until blastoff?

The logo represents a lack of creativity and design. We know on many levels products are sold not only on performance but aesthetics. It's a simple fact. I do understand the desire to set your product apart and make it stand out, but....You seem to incorporate these items into your amp designs, why wouldn't you dig a little deeper and strive for better aesthetics?

Just some honest thoughts.

On the other hand, if you like it. :)

That you for your honest thoughts - always appreciated, good and bad, although I completely disagree that it lacks creativity and design. To answer your question - because I like it, it is the work of pro design company who I think, as a marketing professional do a great job, it is consistent with my CB logo, it will be very small on the amp and I believe my amps have some of the best aesthetics on the market.

Thank you for your approval! ;) It will be pretty small on the front panel of the amp - not much room anyway!

First production units to ship Q1 2015.

People keep saying it lacks originality etc etc bla bla but as already mentioned in this thread, is calling your amp after a body part any better? I think that is cheesy as hell. I happen to like nostalgia and retro stuff and I think that name and the logo fit well with the overall cherry bomb line. So some people are going to think it blows and others will dig it. At the end of the day, it will look good in the headshell regardless and more importantly, will sound like a million bucks vs sounding like a bag of smashed assholes.

No need for the curt reply. I was only trying to say there may be market confusion with so many amplification and audio related products with the same name.

If it comes out looking anything close to as classy as the Cherry Bomb looks it will be awesome.

AND....I am certain the tone will be in there . I still get a big ole shit eatin grin on my face every time I plug into my Cherry Bomb.

Superb

Don't mind me, I just came in here for the grammar lesson. But since we're all giving our feedback on amps, the only things I care about are tone and reliability. And I'm sure the amp will meet both of those requirements given that you're making it, Steve. ;)

You brought it up twice in this thread, man - I certainly saw it the first time and didn't comment. I thought my comment was reasonable given that and also that you seemed to be directing it at more than just me - why would anyone else care?

Trying to find a 100% unique name for music gear is VERY difficult unless you want to name your amp something obscene...

Another update!

Well, the amp chassis, footswitch housing, footswitch cover, PCB design and head case design are now done. I'm having two prototype PCBs made as we speak and I've got two slightly different preamp implementations that will be implemented and I'll build two prototypes and the one I like best will be the production implementation - I'll get you guys involved in hearing both implementations. Hell, if enough people like both, I'll just offer two variants since it is just minor component changes - no changes to the PCB...

Parts are ordered for the prototype board, waiting for quotes on the chassis and footswitch fabrication (with white powder coat and black silkscreening)... Thing are moving along...

Here is the amp chassis design:

Here is the footswitch design:

Here is the head case design. It isn't drawn to scale, of course (yet), but the dimensions are accurate:

Hell Yeah... getting closer. Keep it up Steve. Cheers

Here are some captures from the 3-D mockup we did of the amp. The metal mesh front and back panels and the Henning Amplification nameplate are not shown, of course... :
