That clip accurately captured what we were actually getting in the room
Definitely what I hear when I play mine.

I like it and levels of gain achieved by rolling back and forth the guitars volume

Starting two new builds... One could be yours!

Damn a lot of parts go into these!

Steve ever think about coming out with a single channel rodded Plexi amp.

It would basically be the PLEX channel of this amp. What I'd like to do is offer a PLEX channel amp and a ROD channel amp in a smaller format - perhaps 50W and 100W versions. Should be fairly easy, but before I do more designs, I need to sell a few more of the Cherry Bombs. New designs are expensive to do right!

Steve a single channel like your Plexi channel with a gain knob to put it in the rod channel gain area

The only way to make that happen would be to add a switchable gain stage to the PLEX channel and I'm not going to do that. If you want the PLEX and ROD levels of gain in one amp, then the Cherry Bomb is my design. I like having two independent preamps… The old PlexRod was the design you are suggesting… I think independent preamps is cleaner...

Sounds very good!
Which channel was used for the clip?
That is the ROD channel with the lighter (not off though) saturation setting.

That sounds amazing. Seems to be very responsive to vol knob.
And obviously the build quality looks stellar!

That was one of the things that was really important to me in designing the amp. I never used a dedicated clean channel back when I was playing live. I just rolled down my guitar volume to get my cleans. On this amp, you can get a really nice clean doing just that from whatever gain setting you want when the guitar is full up and on either channel (although the PLEX channel really shines on this - ROD will be a bit grittier clean).

Damn..that was really nice! Loved the dynamics in the volume change.

This amp is not a toy...it's the real deal, a raw beast. Do not get this amp if you like amps with training wheels
I think I know what you're saying here. You are pointing out the organic and open nature of the amp - this is not an ultra saturated/compressed amp that "plays itself" like some Marshall mods or other high gainers you might hear (not that that's a bad thing - this is just a different beast), although you can get plenty of sustain for leads. You gotta have solid control and technique with this amp, but those that do are rewarded handsomely...

Hey, I was curious and first let me say that I am not trying to start a riot or derail so I apologize if someone freaks out.

Steve, I do respect your work. This amp looks amazing.

I have heard some clips over the times on here and I do thing that this amp has one of the best lead tones I have ever heard.

My question is how do you think this amp does with high gain?

I assume it is not designed for that but I do hear some gain in these clips. To me it doesnt have to be super compressed or saturated to get good gain (but what the hell do I know)

I have never heard any down tuned metal/rock clips of this amp so I was curious.

Maybe throw a boost in the front and riff away.
