Maybe throw a boost in the front and riff away.

You are pointing out the organic and open nature of the amp - this is not an ultra saturated/compressed amp that "plays itself" like some Marshall mods or other high gainers you might hear (not that that's a bad thing - this is just a different beast), although you can get plenty of sustain for leads. You gotta have solid control and technique with this amp, but those that do are rewarded handsomely...rockinchippy":3paoo2mi said:This amp is not a toy...it's the real deal, a raw beast. Do not get this amp if you like amps with training wheels![]()

Hey, I was curious and first let me say that I am not trying to start a riot or derail so I apologize if someone freaks out.
Steve, I do respect your work. This amp looks amazing.
I have heard some clips over the times on here and I do thing that this amp has one of the best lead tones I have ever heard.
My question is how do you think this amp does with high gain?
I assume it is not designed for that but I do hear some gain in these clips. To me it doesnt have to be super compressed or saturated to get good gain (but what the hell do I know)

I have a heavy 7 string thing I'm working on that I'll have to put up - super heavy and no boost (although it takes boosts nicely)…maddnotez":29o95a7w said:sah5150":29o95a7w said:I think I know what you're saying here. Dude, you're the guy that bought my YJM? Man, we all have different tastes but the Cherry Bomb smokes that YJM headThis head sounds incredible.
Phil M":wb0yriwe said:rockinchippy, can you compare what you heard/felt from the Cherry Bomb to a Splawn Quickrod? I've played Splawns for years now and that clip sounded a lot like my QR.
Thanks.
