hello, i read from the manual the deep control can damage speakers-cabs due to its power.

when it could start beeing dangerous for a cab?

then, as my 2-x12 cab is 140W, have i to be particularly careful with the 180W !! power of the head?

thanx!!

The 180 is peak watts, meaning you won't even get close to that if you don't crank the amp (a ryhme! :D ) way past 12. Wouldn't know how the deep control affects that though...

ok, way past 12 o'clock for master volume, right? not channel volume

First of all deep will boost the low end (120hz I think??), which means you could blow your speakers without getting super high watts out of it.

That said I run mine very often about 2-3, but I don't crank the amp up too high. I think if that's for home use you have nothing to worry about.

I've fried three cabs so far

I'm using my quarterstack often live - a Herbie and a Diezel 2x12" with a Vintage 30 and a Vintage Century - Master 1= 40%, Master 2= 50% with some (volume) suckage from my rack. I'm always the loudest in the band, esp. when soloing and keep my deep around noon and presence up to 70% normally. No damage yet, except my bandmates ears. I'm deaf anyway :D

Don't worry, be happy.

Well I have my deep at around 12h (50%), and presence at around 15h (75%). :)

My Bogner cabs take that low Deep nicely :)
:
I have the bass around 2pm (a notch or 2 above the middle)

it RAAAAWKS!

From my perception the reference in the Herbert manual about the depth control was a joke! It's more of a brag about the insane amount of bottom end that can be generated. Your 2x12 cab should handle decent volumes.

yes it's a kind of likely joke on the manual, but there's something true ;)
