Herbert through Engl XXL?

Been looking to replace my VHT Fatbottom 412 for a while but I just can't shell out the money for a new Diezel cab right now (used is impossible anyway ;) ) So I started looking for trades and got an offer for a Engl XXL cab. I know I like V30s with the Herbert but I'm a bit worried about the cab being oversized and delivering too much muddy bass.
The owner of the Engl cab suggested a temporary trade so I might be able to test it without risk but still I'm curious if anyone tried this combination.

What don't you like about the VHT FB cab? What do you find it lacking? Are the stock Eminence P50 speakers in the VHT FB cab?

I have owned the XXL, and didn't keep it long because muddy bass is exactly what it delivered.

I didn't have the XXL and the Herbert at the same time though, but I am sure given the huge bottom end the Herbert delivers the XXL would not be a good fit.

Since you have the chance to try it before committing to the trade, you should do it just to satisfy your curiosity. Maybe you will like it.

@Wizz: Yes it has the stock P50€ and this is what I don't like about it with the Herbie. I have to basically crank the Mids and Presence to cut through (I'm up against a very midheavy Engl Blackmore thru V30) and while this doesn't sound bad I just prefer Herbie through V30. The P50E basically lack mids for me and I just don't like the character of those speakers with the Herb. I have a cheap 2x12 with V30s for home playing and I much prefer even this with Herbie.

@SwampDonkey: Exactly my thoughts, I'll probably do it just to satisfy my curiosity. I got offered an Orange PPC as well. But besides the color the guy owning it lives too far away to meet and I don't wanna do a trade by shipping.

@Bato: I'm pretty sure Scott had a normal sized Engl with V30 which is what I was actually looking for.

I'd agree with this statement. I'm not a fan of oversized cabs in general. I'd hold out for one of the new Diezel cabs.
