well, i dug my heels in and pulled the whole board and loosened up the c15 so i could access it from the top...so then while the board was out, i put in my special LED mojo lights!

put the board back in, bypassed c15, hooked her up ....WOW. i LOVE it.

i also made a bias resistor wiring harness, but haven't figured out where i'm going to put it (i want it so i can access it easily and quickly without having to tear my amp down). i think i'm going to install it and 2 bias points somewhere in the amp..i just haven't figured out where.

back to the c15 mod. this amp is SO chewy yet still pretty tight...i love it..except that bit of flubby bass on channel one that i still can't seem to narrow out. can't wait to play it some more tomorrow....!

last night i did the following:

68k resistor on r9 -tightened things up a bit, reduced the gain a little bit. it seemed to make the bass boomier and more pronounced and thumpy, but not loose.

100k resistor on r9 - just seemed to reduce gain and make things a bit bland sounding

223k resistor on r9 - sounds nice, reduced gain even more than 68 and 100.

so far, i like th 68k the best.

going to try a few ore tonight rated a little higher than the 223. then, if i don't find any i like, i think i'm going to mess with a bunch of values below 68k.
