Anyway, the DSL40 is a decent amp. Better than I expected.

I don’t care for the CR model but the one before it, the 40C is a pretty ripping, high gain 800 platform. I never understood why Marshall didn’t offer it in a head. I’d do a rock or classic metal gig with that amp and be plenty happy. I had one for a brief while and it recorded really well.
Someone in the classifieds quite a while ago had a head conversion for sale and I thought hard about it, but couldn’t justify the expense, as mild as it was at the time.
