this shows what spectrums of light enter the atmosphere and which ones are absorbed by the atmosphere.
Note the spikes in the co2 range. This shows that the wavelengths that are absorbed by co2 are entering the atmosphere but not exiting.

And since you are the way you are, yes water vapor shared some of the same wavelengths as co2, but as previously stated, it’s not only co2 contributing to warming, however co2 is the one we have the availability to cut back on
