Nah, it's a Mercedes.

I was a manager of a Jiffy Lube when I was about 20. My record for a 12 bolt chop ( chevy trans) was under 4 minutes.
Ah gotcha. When I was working at Valvoline if you had pulled up and asked about a Mercedes tranny change I would've lit my cig and said come back when Leroy is here.

The guy who does my inspections told me, after passing my car, to never ever bring it to him for work. lol

I'm figuring a lot of it out myself, but my buddy is a European car guy and he's doing some shit for me. Like the trans, lol. There's 2 axles going through the transmission pan and two crossmembers have to come out. You gotta turn the engine over to get to the torque converter plug and the only way to get fluid back in is through the drain plug on the bottom of the pan. lol

Yeah. If it wasn't Chevy, Ford, or Toyota I pretty much wasn't touching it. I've done some Benz oil changes but it got to be where the only dipstick they had was the dumbass changing the filter.

Oil change isn't bad. There is a dipstick for the oil. Brakes aren't bad. Spark plugs are problematic. Well, the number 6 plug is. Unless you take off the intake manifold.

Yeah I did a plug change in the econoline. 7 easy plugs and one sumbitch that took an extra 10,000 miles to get.

Glad the gigs got me out of the lube business. Even the new ford trucks ('17) were showing up with these massive fuzzy underbody pans that had to be removed before you could do the change. It's like everything is designed to hose the guy who works on it and the customer too.

They're designed to force you to take it to the dealer. And fuck that. Guys on the Mercedes forums know way more about them than the dealers. The deal with mercedes is they will run a very long time if you do the maintenance. The maintenance is very expensive if you don't do it yourself. This is why used Mercedes' sell pretty affordably. People are afraid of having to pay out the ass for repairs and maintenance.

They are a decent car, so are a lot of the BMW's. The beauty is a lot of them can run any weight oil you find suitable for the weather you are dealing with. But I pretty much hate the move to the massive amounts of electronics in vehicles. What that means is I pretty much hate cars now. My boots are still all analog.

Meh, not a BMW fan. They have lots of problems. Expensive problems.

Do you know the difference between a Porsche and a porcupine ? Porcupine the pricks on the outside.
:)

Could have been fuel rail
Pretty sure it was like a pressure reg on the rail. Ford has those weird snap connectors for fuel lines. I have the tool but they are a bitch to get loose in a lot of cases and the truck is a 2003 so I didn't wanna risk messing up more stuff for one plug. I bought a couple extra elbows and a smaller set of ratchet wrenches to give me more workspace and it worked out.

Yes, those fuel line fittings have garter springs and they def suck. Not sure if 03 Econoline uses a regulator, or a fuel pressure sensor, i forget which year Ford made that switch.
