Local pick up only? Hope your shit sits there.
Steve if you did local pick up only......you would be screwed. :hys:

So many things wrong in
the classifieds...Don't know where to start but..Wouldn't make any difference anyways..

I guess this is a little OT but it really bothers me when companies have their website. Tell you all about how awesome they are. Spam the shit out of all the forums but yet make you contact them for pricing because their site does not list any prices.

I research before I post something for sale here and try to come in a bit under what others have sold stuff for, however, I've noticed recently that people around here don't want to pay anywhere near what higher value items are worth based on recent sales I can point to. They'll only buy if something comes in considerably under other recent sales elsewhere. Lotsa tire kickers too that ask tons of questions and for additional pictures when I've already posted plenty. I've pulled anything I've had for sale. There are other things I'd like to try, but I don't need to sell anything and I'm not willing to give stuff away for stupid prices... I feel for anyone who needs to turn gear into cash right now...

Can you advise how many threads your screws have for the chassis?

Problem with buying from guitar center is half the crap is beat to death or does not work and then you get screwed out of shipping unless you have a good relationship with the sales guy.

But my biggest gripe from me trying to sell my triple rec right now is people coming up and are like I will give you $900, that is what they are going for on GC and Craigslist. Then I have to tell them, no that is the price the older version goes for, not the multi watt version and then they still try to talk me down.

I will agree some people price their stuff wayyyyy to high.

If your bumping the same unsold gear for 2 months....it's priced too high.

There have been items on my local CL for up to and past two years. Unbelievable that people re-list things for that long with no price change.

Does it not occur to them that they are selling items for twice what they go or these days?

I have seen that, there are a few guitars on san fran craigslist that have been there for at least 3 years, one of the guitars had a price drop of 50 bucks!!!

I have actually been very lucky with GC. I have bought two amps from them that cost $1,000 or better. Both as described and have had no issues.

I did however buy a Maxon OD808 on the cheap from GC that started shorting out after 6 months or so but overall it was not that bad compared to the deals I got on the amps.

I was unaware of their shipping policy. I will have to ask them next time I buy because I was under the impression if they shipped me a broken amp it would be their responsibility to pay for shipping both ways or make an insurance claim or something. Would not expect to have to pay out of pocket if a Corporation mailed me a broken product.

Anyhow I agree about high prices some of them make me hurt inside. I usually list more than my lowest price because I love the almighty price drop but I do not think I would ever or have ever listed something way out of the range. If I did or ever do I give you all permission to slam me. I would sure like to reply to a few people here and there but that is just rude.

You can return it to any Guitar Center, you don't HAVE to ship it back. I've had good look with all my GC used purchases and got some killer deals too. Sometimes they make mistakes. ;)

Totally agree, Steve. Lots of tirekickers and lowballers up in here.

This why I pretty much stopped selling and buying gear as well. When I do I'll typically trade it to my friend who owns a music store and have him get the things I want. Yes I know I'm eating a part of what my stuff is worth but I'd much rather my friend sell it and make some extra cash than let some guy on the forums try and steal it from me.

That's actually a great choice. I ended up trading The Music Zoo my Suhr 7 string for a guitar I wanted to try and they gave me a very fair price for it. They actually gave me more than the best offer I got here...

Steve

There's a couple things I'd probably over-pay for, but I can never find them... ;)

I think things were easier to flip in the before times so pricing was less important. People are afraid to get stuck with something now, so they only want to pay bottom dollar.

Yes you can if one is close enough, but depending on the store and the saleman you might not be refunded the money it cost to ship to the GC/home unless you raise some hell. FYI I always have shipped to the store and plug it in before I sign the pick up paperwork because I have had buddies who had it shipped to their house and it does not work and GC blame it on UPS/Fed EX.

Why would they? It costs money to ship things, and I guarantee your shipping rate would be higher if you did it yourself w/insurance, etc., unless you can ship through work or something. The least you can do is pay the freight. A business is a business. Free rides sink the ship.

Respectfully disagree.

1) A business should not sell broken shit. That will sink the ship as well.

2) A business should try to obtain loyalty from a customer by standing by their products and making any of their wrongs right.

If you go into business to screw people over and cost them more money then needed you won't last very long imo.
