I saw a video earlier today with Hiwatt saying they were releasing the Super Hi 50 (not Custom Super Hi 50) and its supposed to clock in around $1000. I think they are going with PCB construction but aside from that they didnt really go into specifics to what changes were made to bring it down 2000 bucks.

Anybody go to NAMM and check out this version?

Made in Asia?

Unfortunately, that name has become like a property in Monopoly that everyone keeps trading and no one can do much with. I wouldn't get your hopes too high on a new inexpensive one.

I have a Custom Super-Hi 50 and was able to play the Chinese version at Namm this year. Have to say, it is about 90+% of the way there when compared to the UK-made model.

It is PCB construction and I’m sure the transformers are not near the Partridge recreations that the Brit model has, but damn the head kills. To my recollection it is going to be around $1000-ish. I’ll def pick one up as a backup to my Custom for touring. Didn’t have anything in the loop so no experience there, but I must say I was impressed with the tone for sure.

Full disclosure: I am a Hiwatt artist, so take my words with as few or as many grains of salt as you wish.

I hope to see some videos with audio. There is a guy who has the 5 watt version in a FB group and he seems pretty happy with his and his vids sound pretty decent

Hey Josh! I didn't;t know you hung out here!

I didn't get a chance to get to HiWatt at NAMM unfortunately.

Jeremy,

Yup! I lurk here but post very infrequently.

Was able to try the aforementioned Super Hi and also picked up the 5-watt “Hi-5” that is also relatively new.

Am pretty impressed with the Hi-5; it’s a fun little amp that gets surprisingly loud and aggressive.

This sounds killer. I've been digging the clips of the Hi-5 that the angry riff guy posts.
