This seems like the best of the 45 Iran conflict threads to post this in...

Not saying any of this is true, Trump has been playing 18D Chess, or anything like that, but the logic is sound.

For anyone who doesn't watch the video this is the synopsis.
Everything Trump has done and is doing is about the petrodollar, energy, and making America great on the global stage as well as domestically. Europe, Syria, and Venezuela were the setup and Iran/Middle East is the final step. All lead to the end result of making the US the major global supplier of oil, LNG & energy and solidifying the petrodollar. This would in turn strengthen America's domestic economy. Basically, a similar outcome to what happened after WWII. The caveat is the US would have to endure some short term pain; which we are seeing now, for long term gains.

Tim adds in that he doesn't think this was Trump's original plan, but with new info and events he pivoted to it. If this is the plan I'd agree with Tim that it probably didn't start out that way.

Like I said, I don't know if there is any truth to this, but the explanation and reasoning at least appears logical. We'll just have to wait and see how things unfold.

IDF chief warns of ‘collapse’ as Israel delays ultra-Orthodox draft​

Eyal Zamir reportedly told the cabinet he was “raising ten red flags” due to acute personnel shortages

The Israel Defense Forces is “on the verge of collapse” due to acute personnel shortages, Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has warned, according to local media. Opposition parties have accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government of stalling on drafting ultra-Orthodox Jews.

Military service is mandatory for most Israeli citizens, both men and women. However, members of the Haredi community have historically been exempt from conscription. While the Israeli Supreme Court revoked the exemption in June 2024, Netanyahu’s cabinet has so far delayed drafting ultra-Orthodox Jews.

Parties within the ruling coalition representing the Haredi community have repeatedly threatened to withdraw support for Netanyahu should he introduce the measure.

Addressing the cabinet on Wednesday, Lieutenant General Zamir said he was “raising ten red flags for you before the IDF collapses,” as quoted by The Jerusalem Post.

Today - Rubio told reporters after meeting G7 counterparts in France that Washington was “on or ahead of schedule in that operation, and expect to conclude it at the appropriate time here – a matter of weeks, not months”.
