The first guy that can do an Uber module will command my wallet to open......I know it's coming from somebody.....

well, it's on Salvation's list of options, so pony up the cash already.

Where is this list? Damn that avatar makes my eyes tired..

WOAH!!! That was completely bad-ass in ALL respects!!

1) Whoever did that lead is a GREAT player!! I've only heard a few people cop Marty's style so well.

2) The tones are great....the lead tone sounds so much like the album..this guy has quite an ear!!

3) Production on the guitar is stellar....again...GREAT EAR. It's one thing to work with a great amp...it's another to take that amp and make it sound like something else already sounds on tape. I don't find that very easy at all. I also notice there's not much bass in the recorded guitar tone...exactly how it should be and more proof this guy knows what he's doing. Most people/clips have WAY too much bass dialed in on their guitar tones....that RARELY fits with the overall mix.

I'm not exactly clear on his business though....does he make custom modules of whatever tones you want? Is he taking already existing Randall modules and modding them to his own liking?

He's modding stuff from the existing line. If you want info e-mail the guy or PM him over at grailtone. He's usually back with you in a few days. I sent him a laundry list of high end amps and most he couldn't do. However the standards like yooooooberchall, SLO, Orange AD30/OR120, Engl, etc. are on the list.

I'm yanking that quote as I'm not sure the dude wants me to make it public record. Let's put it this way, it's around the cost of a new module retail. Depends on what he's adding to it.

Gotcha!

Man I'm super jealous. I have mine picked out. Did he give you the option to name it? I want to call mine Geraldo. :D

This is the first time I've had GAS in awhile. Gene, you had Dave and Marty's setup during that era. When you get yours, be sure to post a review as to how accurate it is to the CAE preamp and VHT poweramp.

The single channel modules pop right into the Egnater stuff, correct? I might have to get one of these things.

LOL,

TBR-2SL module??

OMG, I'm thinking a Rivera mod would be AWESOME with push pull knobs maybe? ninja boost?

I will,

and, yes, this will pop right into any of the following amps:

Egnater M4
Egnater Mod 50
Egnater Mod 100
Rocktron VP-4 (with faceplate mod)
Randall RM-4
Randall RM20
Randall RM50
Randall RM100

How much do the M4s usually go for? Also, what do you have?

That would be ideal. Something in the ballpark of a K100/S120/TBR-SL lead channel for sure. I miss that tone so much. I regret hocking my K100. This guy really upped the ante on the mod series. I feel even more justified in my research now. The Eggs are always going to be an integral part of my system, but this guy gives you the opportunity to truly have your own thing. Plus his eye for aesthetics is truly impressive.

A newer, Dual Channel M4, fully loaded with four dual channel modules usually fetches around $2K.

I have a Dual Channel Egnater M4 and a modded single channel Rocktron VP-4.

I'm curious though.......how does he put these things together? Does he have the actual amp in front of him? Is he going off schematics? How does he ascertain the tone? I mean if he's got all these amps he can do........he can't have all these amps at his disposal? Is it actual circuit board copying or is it his "impression" of an amp?
