That was awesome. Good to see an interviewer who knows what gear things we want to hear about, too.

But with all that setup, and as many heads as they go through on tour, I can understand why bands are going to an AxeFX or Kemper solution for touring, just to keep the cost lower. I think Metallica's live tone has suffered a bit since the swap, (though I haven't seen them, just the videos) but the extra expense of "an amp guy" and the shipping on all that stuff has to build-up over a tour.

Yes, sadly the sound has suffered. Great to see bands tour with "real amps".... can't watch the video though. YouTube says its "privat"... mmh.

Video was not sanctioned by Angus. Had to be removed, as it should have been. Some stuff remains sacred.

Too late, I already saw it. His secret weapon he uses is a Marshall SLP.

  Shhhhhhh! It's a secret and sacred.

didnt see the vid:

Angus is using 9's? wouldn't have guessed that

We bias the amps to the limit.. Hey, we got an amp guy WTF... :D

Rick from Wizard was their amp tech for 27 years and never leaked a thing. This other bunch finished the last tour and made an unsanctioned video.

3 shows on a set of tubes!!!! That's bad ass! I would go broke on buying glass alone lol.

In this time of marshall clones, they using the originals. No Metro, no Wizard, no replicas... Interesting.

They've used Mesa Studio pre with Strategy 400s in the 80s...and for YEARS used Wizards. Now, they are back to their original tone with Marshall NMVs. I'm sure they still own the Mesa and Wizard stuff. Next tour, who knows..back to Wizards?

Thought I heard Trace from Voodoo amps was involved now as well.

That wasn't trace in the video? Thought I heard the guy say "trace" when they went over to the amps

The gentleman in the video is Trace Foster who is Angus' current Guitar Tech. I did work on the gear but returned back to the shop prior to this video being filmed.

It's good to be Angus ;)
Shame about his Bro though.... Can't be easy :aww:
Oh I bet... but at the same time that could be fuel'in him to be living life to the fullest while he can. I know I would. I mean Malcolm (64) is only 2 years older than Angus (62). If I was Angus I'd be a little worried about early dementia hitting me too.
