maybe Kip Winger will be the man on Bass

No.................just no

Comments like this I miss barzini's thoughts and pics.

Is Tony Franklin considered in the line up?? My pick for bassist/co-vocalist would be Glenn Hughes!

Possible candidates I can think of:

Billy Sheehan
Stu Hamm
Jason Newsted

That is great news! I'm betting on Marco Mendozza on bass, as he played with Sykes before. He actually nailed Glenn's vocal parts on Burn, when he was with Whitesnake, so he can definitely sing.

perhaps John Paul Jones might be available, with Grohl and company on the road this fall . . .

Ha, my first thought was JPJ too. Always loved his playing and tone.

Agreed... I think Marco is the perfect choice. He has crazy good fretless bass chops, which was the trademark Blue Murder sound, and he has a killer set of pipes too!!

This would be great. Marco is awesome.

This is awesome.thw rock world needs some Sykes.

Marco's my bet for bass.i don't want SHeehan in there.i like him,but not for this.mr big is touring the states so he should be busy.

I'd like to see a new/unheard of/ no name bassist.i'm sure theres lots lookin for work.but i'd be alright if Marco joined the ranks.

Interesting... that's one of the first names that came to mind. I think the pocket would be killer with Portnoy and Anthony.

That would be cool. Anthony is great for holding down the fort without overplaying, giving the guitarist lots of room to breath. Solid simple bass lines with killer backup vocals.

I'd actually like to hear Sykes go back to a Mesa Mark amp for this. It suited him and his fluid lead style.

This does sound like great news that Sykes will be doing something, I would like to see Marco Mendoza on bass also, but since he's in Thin Lizzy and booked through November, I dunno if he will be available.

The only other thing that concerns me is Portnoy's involvement, I like his drumming, but with him starting up all these misc bands I could see him bailing on the project.

Very cool! Lookin forward to some new Sykes! Gotta tear the hell out of that new Whitesnake album.
